I wore a bathing suit top today and a light long sleeve shirt. I could not put on a bra, and I could not put on long pants because yesterday I was dumb, or was it, I was forgetful, I did not put any sunscreen on before getting in the pool, and last night and today I am paying for it. My first day in the pool and under the arch of the sun was a bit too much, I am burnt. Only on the front side, because I laid on my back on a raft and did not turn to my stomach, so from the front, I am a lobster, my chest and shoulders got the worst of it, and my legs are burnt, too, but not as bad. I did not get in the pool today, and if I do tomorrow, I will wear a long sleeve shirt and I will not forget the sunscreen. Lesson learned.
Everything I read about the pumps that come with this type of swimming pool says they do not come with the right size pump for the size of pool. My pool came with a 1000GPH pump and "they" say you need a 2500GPH pump. I have been watching Marketplace for the one I need and today I found a 3000GPH pump for 140.00 dollars, the pool company sells them for 344.99, so I thought it was a good deal, which it was. It was brand new and still in the box. So I contacted the guy and we drove to Vero and bought it. What I did not do was read the description better, it is a sand pump.
A sand pump is better than a filter pump, and cheaper to run, but what I did not know was the sand costs 25 dollars for a 50 pound bag, and it takes 120 pounds of sand, so I have to buy 3 bags of it. I might see if I can get by with buying 2 bags. The good thing is, the sand will last from 3 to 5 years, which is probably longer than the pool will last.
Tomorrow I will need to go to Home Depot and see if they sell the sand, their website says they do, but that does not mean they will have it in stock. If not, I will need to order it. My daughter has Prime, so thankfully, I can order under her name and get free shipping. If I had to order it somewhere else, it would cost too much to have it shipped to me.
