5 minute freewrite Wednesday prompt my replacement
This is my post for #freewriters Wednesday prompt my replacement hosted by @daily.prompt
This morning I went to Miners Island which is no longer an island but an underwater bar. In the 1990s we camped on this island but the 2005 hurricanes took all of the trees and other vegetation away, without anything to hold the sand in place, it all washed away and is now underwater. There was no fish there so I went on to Long Point.
At Long Point, I was not anchored for very long when I caught a pompano, I rebaited that rod, I fish with 6, and threw it back out. It was not there long and I had another one. I rebaited and cast out again and had another but it got my line around my lower unit and cut the line, and I lost it.
This was the only rod that was catching and I knew better than to do this but I did it anyway. I wanted to get more of my rods in that area and the only way to do this was to move in that direction. I never got another bite. I have done this before and just like today, I kicked myself for doing it.
A line of clouds was already building but not the normal cloud cover, the old timers called these Hells Balls. I am not sure of their meaning for calling them this but usually it meant bad weather is coming.
I knew my time was limited. But I ran to Pepper Cove anyway. Once there I skipped a pompano and anchored, two more skipped from my boat. I caught one but the catfish and bait stealers were bad so I moved on to shallower water. I caught one. I moved again and caught one. I moved again and caught 2 but the thunderstorm was building fast and I could hear the thunder so I knew it was time to leave.
Ever since my truck went in the river I do not close the door on the driver's side when I back down the ramp but somehow it not only closed, not all of the way, just halfway where I could push on it but it would not completely close. The bad thing was I must have hit the lock when I got out. With it locked and not shut all of the way, the button would not unlock it, the FOB would not unlock it and the key would not unlock it.
The passenger side would not unlock either. I wish I had put in a request for my replacement to be in her 20s or 30s or 40s, I did not care which younger age because at almost 66 I found it very hard to climb in the window, luckily it was down.
Once at home, I got my husband to come out and try to get the door open, he could not get it open, so here I am climbing back out of the window. My truck is a Ford 250, it was harder climbing out than in.
After messing with it for a while my husband got it to unlock. He is not sure what he did to get it to unlock. He sprayed it with WD-40 and now it works every time.

.Oh my! Lady, hats off climbing in and out of that big truck! I'm glad you were able to catch some fish and you be careful with those storms. Jeff is always watching the clouds when we fly.

I bet he does, it would not be a good thing to be in a small plane and get caught in a thunderstorm, or I would assume it would be bad. My truck door is working now, it must have just needed oil.
Yeah, not so good flying in any kind of storm. We were once forced to land over an oncoming storm. I'm glad your door got repaired.
