5 minute freewrite Saturday prompt a new world

This is my post for #freewriters Saturday prompt a new world hosted by @daily.prompt

For many reasons, it IS a new world in our house. But my husband's cooking is what I am posting about, I have been cooking dinner for my own home since I turned 17 and a few years ago my husband decided that he wanted to do the cooking. His complaint with my cooking was, I can not cook for two people, we have leftovers for a couple of days.

The above photo is what he cooked for our dinner last night. I am not sure how he put it all together but this is what is in it. A hamburger, egg cooked over easy, cheese, and bacon. The bread is cooked in or with syrup with crumbled fruit loops on top, yep it is a new world but it was tasty. Side note, he said the recipe called for a sausage patty but all he had was hamburger.

I have been disappointed in my Dragon Fruit, they have been having a lot of flowers but not making any fruit, but I guess today is a new world for me with them, the fruit is to the left of the blooms. You can see the old bloom still hanging from it.

We have a store that takes donations from other stores, food that is going out of date, and they sell it at a cheaper price, we call it The Cheap Store. You would think in a new world like this, a big chain store would donate to them instead of throwing it in a dumpster.

My son loves to dumpster dive behind stores, it is unbelievable what the stores throw away. One of his friends found a 50 inch smart TV, in the box but the remote was missing.

A couple of days ago he comes home with a box filled with chocolate of all kinds. He said this was just a small part of what he got. He had 3 garbage bags full and he said there was more than that left in the dumpster. These dumpsters do not have food trash in them and none of the packages were open so I think it is safe to eat. What a new world I never thought I would eat something from a dumpster.

Wow ... indeed you are on a new adventure, BUT, stores do throw a stunning amount of perfectly usable things away so they can write them off. Vinegar the packages down, let them dry, and enjoy.

I just do not understand why this store does not donate things like this to the cheap store, they can write it off by doing that.
