This is my post for #freewriters 2986 prompt the landowner hosted by @mariannewest

The other day, while collecting food for Rudy, I saw these flowers. I am not sure what they are, but I like them. Today I saw another one just like it, not far from these. They are near the evil neighbor's land but not on hers. I am the landowner where they are growing. This summer, not far from this plant, I found two goldenrod plants. We have lived here for over twenty years, and I have never seen either of these two plants before. I believe they are God's gift to me.

When the goldenrod started to go to seed, I put a bag over it so I could collect the seeds and plant them this spring. I will keep an eye on this one to see if I can collect its seeds. This spring, if they survive the winter, I plan to dig them all up and plant them in my flower garden. I assume they are native wildflowers. It would be nice to have an area with all the native plants.

Turks cap
I have some natives, such as periwinkles, cranberry hibiscus, and Turk's cap hibiscus, some people call them sleeping hibiscus, because they never open. I also have firebush, beautyberry, native orchids, and wild coffee, but I do not have pictures of them, and it is too dark and cold outside to go out and take one of them.

My husband's game camera had good pictures of the rat that keeps rebuilding its nest in his shed. It is sitting on a tackle box, staring right at the camera. It did a lot of moving around because the camera took 97 pictures of it. I told my husband it was probably trying to figure out how to get his game camera into its nest.

We had snow in the panhandle of Fl earlier today, but it melted as it hit the ground. The cold front hit us around 2 this afternoon, and it had a lot of wind with it. It blew over several of the areca palms that had rooted to the ground in their pots. It also blew a lot of palm fronds and limbs down. Now it is cold again, but "they" say it will only get down to 40. I left my orchids and desert roses in the shed with a heater. It needs to warm up so I can take them back outside.

Uffda, you really are getting excessive winter for your area! Wind sure can do a lot of damage to plants. Hope yours aren't ruined.

It is coming again on Tuesday. They say the wind chill will be in the upper 20's, and it will not get above 50 for the next ten days.
