This is my post for #freewriters 2982 prompt not my shrink hosted by @mariannewest

One of my daughters gave me money for Christmas, and after a lot of thought as to what to buy myself, I decided on a Ring doorbell and a security camera for the backyard. Everyone says they are easy to set up, they say all I need to do is scan the QR code. If I had known this, I would not have ordered it.

The outdoor camera came a week ago, and the doorbell came yesterday. My sister has one and said she knows how to set it up. Last year, I had my oldest granddaughter try to scan a QR code on my phone, and she could not get my phone to do it.

Today my sister tried, but was unsuccessful. Now everything has changed on my phone, and I can not get rid of some of the things. She downloaded a QR code app, and when we opened it, it said I have 70 viruses on my phone, and I have to have that app clean it. I do not trust it. I am ready to sell both of them.

I have been Googling how to use the QR scanner, and Google says I do not need to download the QR app, just go to my camera, hold the phone over the code, and when prompted, click the QR thing that will appear. NOTHING APPEARS!!! All it does is take a picture.

My sister helps me with a lot of things, but today I feel like I am going to go bonkers and need a shrink. I wish she was a psychiatrist, but not my shrink because right now, I am ready to take a hammer to my phone. I am getting more upset, so I will get off of that subject.

Thursday night or early Friday morning, they are calling for, not frost, but a freeze. Because I have so many plants and not enough room inside to put them, I spent the day today bunching my pineapples together.

I have 73 of them. I made three groups. I cut a bunch of palm fronds that I am going to cover them with, then I will put old sheets over the palm fronds. I have some in the ground so I placed the groups around them. Our last cold weather we had frost and it burned them, but did not kill them. With a freeze, I am afraid it will kill them. I also have cardboard that I will wrap around the outside of each group.

I stacked things in my shed to one side and hung a rope across the window so I could hang my orchids in it.

After I get the orchids inside, I will next put the small desert roses and the mahogany tree.

I do not know how I am going to do it, but somehow ALL of my big desert roses are going inside, somewhere. I have always put them in the house, but last year my husband told me I could not do that anymore. He was upset because, even though I looked them over before bringing them inside, we had lizards in the house. He says they will die because they can not get water. He might have to be mad, because if I need to, they are coming inside. I have had some of them for 25 years, and I am not going to lose them over a lizard.

I have had phones which do not automatically scan a QR code. I dislike most standalone apps, but Kaspersky makes one that seems safe and not likely to try to upset you for virus scans and whatnot. It's just about ensuring you don't accidentally open malicious links in a QR scan.

I just discovered I haven't read any of your posts for 17 days. I probably haven't read any posts at all for that long. If life would slow down long enough, I would write about it! I hope you get the phone problem worked out, and I hope your plants survive. This has been such an odd winter where I live; real snowy winter has never arrived.
