5 minute freewrite 2967 prompt it’s alive!

This is my post for #freewriters 2967 prompt it’s alive! hosted by @mariannewest
Winter has hit us once again, and I am not happy, and neither are some of my plants. I put my orchids, pitcher plant, small desert roses, and my mahogany tree in my shed. A few months ago I was at a yard sale and the lady had a couple of the old style light bulbs for sale, They are not like the bulbs we buy today, they produce heat. I have had them hidden for this purpose. I went in the shed an hour after turning the light on and it was warmer in there than outside.
I bought the mahogany tree last summer at a yard sale, but forgot to ask the lady what kind it is. I am hoping it is the type they grow in south Florida because it can handle cooler temperatures. But that is for mature trees. I am hoping by the end of winter I can say it’s alive!
I did not bring my bigger desert roses inside or cover them. My husband was helping me put the small ones inside and I asked if he thought putting the big ones in a cluster would help keep them warm, he said he did not think it would do that. I was just reading about how cold they can take, under 40 can severely damage or kill them, it is to be 38 tonight, it said if you have to leave potted plants outside, to put them in a cluster. Now it is dark and I am kicking myself for not doing something with the big ones. Some I have had for over 20 years. Now, I am going worry about them all night.

I hope you’ll be able to say it’s alive at the end of winter; losing plants is the worst.
Thank you, I do, too.
That must be a special bulb and I know it'll be of a great help during this season.
The bulbs we buy today do not release any heat, the stores no longer sell that kind, the government did away with them.
