5 minute freewrite 2946 prompt living on a mountain

I was three months of turning fifteen, and I had never seen a mountain. That changed when Dad moved us from Florida to Missouri. We had mini bikes and small motorcycles to ride, and we were not used to living on a mountain. Our house was on a big hill, and our neighbor was on a bigger hill, there was a little valley between us. To get to the next neighbor, you had to go up a bigger hill, called High Lonesome. The first time I tried to ride my motorcycle to the top of High Lonesome, I did not make it to the top. I thought I was flying when I went down one side, but I still did not have enough speed to make it up the other one. It was scary to go that fast on gravel roads. I was not used to seeing so much rock, either, all we had in Florida were sand roads to ride on.
That year was the first time I saw snow, and it did not take me long to know I did not like it. Then that first year, Missouri had the worst ice storm that they had had in 30 years. Ice covered everything and it was hard to walk without falling.
I was gone from Florida for seven years. I think back on those years and wonder how I could grow up in seven years. When I came back, I had been married, divorced, and had three kids.
Florida has always had a special place in my heart, but it is changing more than I like. There is nowhere else for me to live. I will not live in the mountains and can not go any further south. I always tease my kids that I want to move to Costa Rica, only because it has a warm climate. My husband wants to move to Alaska, one of us will not be going there....
We had a cold front go through, so the wind has been blowing, it was blowing 28 knots this morning. According to the website Windy, it will be 3 knots in the morning, so we got our ice this evening and will fish tomorrow.
