5 minute freewrite 2942 prompt year of the blob

This morning, we went straight to Long Point and spent the entire day there. On the left side of the sun's reflection is my husband, he caught two today.

Everywhere we anchored, we had a pompano skip from the boat, but they would not bite. I told my sister they don't bite when we have a full moon, they feed at night. She checked on her phone, and the full moon is tonight.

The wind had picked up, so all the other boats left. My husband said he was leaving, too. It was blowing about 20 knots with gusts to 25. I told my sister we could leave now and it will be a rough ride across the river, or we could stay and fish and hope the wind lays down. We stayed.

I wanted to move to an area that looked like it had a sandy bottom, but before we could reel in our lines, a boat came and ran across it. It was the only boat we could see in all directions.

The wind laid down around 3:30 so we left. We caught 6 pompano, and we also lost 4. For me, this has to be the year of the blob. I can not get a good catch. I am not giving up, but it seems like everything is telling me I should.

When we caught our first fish, I told my sister that it was a 100% increase from what we caught yesterday.
