My oldest wanted to cook Thanksgiving dinner at her house, but she had to get me, her sister, and her brother first. I wanted to cook for her since she is having medical issues, but she insisted on cooking at her house.

They do not know what is causing her pain, they think some kind of autoimmune disorder. Her entire body hurts, but prednisone helps her have less pain. She said she took two today, but I could tell she was still hurting.

She cooked a turkey that turned out very moist. She brined it first. She made homemade yeast rolls, mashed potatoes, fresh cranberry sauce, green beans, homemade dressing, and she made a pumpkin cheesecake from scratch. Everything was so good.

Last year, she cooked Christmas dinner and burned herself. This yea,r she laid her arm on the roasting pan while it was still burning coal hot, and burned her arm.

As I was eating dinner, I was thinking of Thanksgivings past. There were so many people at those dinners, now there are five of us. It is sad how the family does not get together like we did before Mom passed.
