5 minute freewrite 2927 prompt amateur detective

This is my post for #freewriters 2927 prompt amateur detective hosted by @mariannewest.
This is an Eacles Imperialis moth, Imperial Moth for short. It is the first one we have ever seen. It has been hanging onto an old tee shirt on our front porch for three days now. With the internet, it was not hard to be an amateur detective and find out what it is and about it.
To me, it has a sad life. It only eats when it is a caterpillar. Once it turns into a moth, its only goal is to mate and then die. We have not wanted to disturb it, but now I am wondering if it is even alive.
Every day I have been tracking the starter for my boat motor and today it said out for delivery. Since we do not have much room for delivery trucks to turn around, we have everything delivered to my sister-in-law's house, she lives on our same road about a mile away.
My sister was here to help me put it back on the motor. I told her why don't we drive down to Debbie's house and wait on the mail person. With our limited amateur detective work, we decided that the mail comes to Debbie's house before mine. We sat in my sister-in-law's driveway and watched the mail truck come from the side road and turn towards my house, so much for us being amateur detectives. No one had mail, so it was hauling butt down the road. Finally, they stopped at a mailbox, and my sister gunned the engine and got past the mail truck. She pulled into my driveway and we waited. The mail person pulled up, and I asked if I could have the package for my sister-in-law's address. She said she could not do that. I told her it would be in my name, but her address, she asked for ID, and I showed her my license, then she gave me my starter.

We put the new starter on the motor and hooked a garden hose to the lower unit. I pulled the choke and hit the starter button. The motor started right up and ran like a champ. BUT, as I was putting the hood back on, I saw a spring hanging. When I took it apart, I did not undo a spring, so I was baffled as to where it went. It is number 9 in the photo. It has something to do with the choke. Before fishing tomorrow, we will need to figure out where it goes and how to hook it back to the correct place.
My husband fished today, he caught 12 pompano that weighed 33 pounds. They are bigger fish than we were catching before the cold weather.
