Today, we got an early start to getting sandfleas. I think my sister found out yesterday how important the right tide was. She showed up at my house at 6:30 this morning.
The other day, she kept complaining about my husband's rake and wanted me to order her one like mine, but the aluminum rakes are too expensive. So today I gave her my rake, and I used my husband's. She found out that her not catching many fleas is not the rake. I filled my bucket, and she had a quarter of her bucket filled. On the way back to the trail, I put another quarter bucket in hers, giving her a half bucket.
It was an aggravating day for getting fleas. The tide was falling, and we had to wait for the right wave, then you run down, stick your rake in the sand, and another wave rolls in on top of the rake, making you lose the fleas you had.
We each take a glass of iced tea with us, I put cup holders on our buckets, and we cover the top with a sandwich baggie. I brew my own tea, but she likes to buy a tea called Milos. I do not know why she likes it better than brewed, it is not the usual flavour of tea for me.
We were home by noon and had 28 bags blanched and in the freezer by 2pm. I hope there are fish to catch them with. No one around here has caught any amount since it got cold. The word is they are catching them at the boil. The boil is an hour south of us, it is where the outflow for the power plant goes into the ocean. It produces warm water.

Sometimes getting better results depends on the user of a device and not the device itself.
Yes, this is true, but she is just learning how to get them. She will get better. So I do not expect her to get as many as I get, she did. I am glad she did not buy a rake.
