Yesterday I asked my sister if she wanted to get sandfleas today. She said yes and what time did I want her here? I said as early as she can get here because the tide will be falling. She showed up a little after 9am. It was nearly ten when we got to the beach, which was almost dead low tide. Yes, I was upset, but I did not say anything, some people have to experience things themselves to understand.
When the tide is low, the sand gets hard to pull the rake through, and the fleas get in the shells. It is the worst tide to get them. I like half tide the best, halfway to high to halfway to low.
After making a few pulls with the rake, I told her I was not going to hurt my body for nothing, and we could go home. She said let's stay, we are getting a few, I said a damn few and walked off. She went back to digging, and I turned and headed up the trail towards the truck. She got the idea and came behind me. Her heart is pure but... she needs to listen and do what I say. She told me tomorrow she will be here at daylight, we will see.

Our niece went with us too, she used my husband's big rake, my sister used my rake, and I used my husband's small rake. Our niece had the orange bucket, mine is top right, and my sister's is the top left.

This is pitiful for three people raking.

A bag and a half of fleas. I hope that are still there tomorrow. This is why I pushed so hard getting them on Saturday, because you never know what you will get the next time you go.
