I wanted to know if wild rabbits could eat hibiscus flowers, and that search took me down the rabbit hole. They can eat them, and I think now, Rudy is going to be upset with me. I was reading about feeding rabbits and the article said grapes and carrots should only be given twice a week.

Every day when I clean his cage, he sticks his head out, and I give him a carrot. Then I bought a bag of grapes and, for a couple of days, gave him a grape. Yesterday I tried to give him a carrot, and he refused to take it. I left it there watching, and he would peek out, but would not take the carrot. I got a grape and held it at the door. He snatched it out of my hand like he was telling me don't you dare! do that again! I want grapes!!! He can get an attitude if I change things he likes.`

Then I saw how to know if your rabbit loves you. According to them, it is called "binky' when a rabbit runs toward you and flicks its feet. I showed that to my husband and asked if that is what Rudy is doing when he runs at me and boxes my hand with his front feet. Neither of us can picture what a flick of the feet means. I did read that the low noise he makes means he is happy, and when he puts his nose to mine, it means he trusts me. That makes my Mama rabbit heart feel good.

If I am not awake and he wants his morning apple slice, he will pick his treat bowl up and drop it, over and over again. For about a week now, I have been hearing a different noise, and today I found out what it was. He has pine cones to chew on, and this morning, one was in his food dish. When I cleaned his cage, I threw one of the pine cones to the other end of the cage. When he woke, I heard that noise. He was picking up the pine cone and dropping it. I watched as he finally got it high enough to get over the lip of his litter box and dropped it in. I guess he no longer wants it.
