5 minute freewrite 2905 prompt one more recommendation

This is my post for #freewriters 2905 prompt one more recommendation hosted by @mariannewest
As he opened the door, his first words were, "I am glad you were not with me today". I knew things went wrong, and I was going to hear about it.
He caught 6 pompano on the inlet banks, then ran to Black Point and caught 7 more. He had to be in early for a doctor's appointment, and said he did not want to come in with 13 fish. He is not superstitious, so I do not know why he said that.
He still had time to catch one more and cast his lines back out. It was not long before he had one on. It was a big one and took him around the boat and into the anchor rope. He got it worked out of the anchor rope, and when he tried to lift it into the boat, the lead on his line tied itself into a knot around the anchor line, and the fish was flopping on the side of the boat. He could not lift it, and it flopped off of the hook. It swam 30 feet from the boat and started skipping, my husband said it did that just to show him how big it was.
He still had time to catch one more, and again it was not long before he had another big one. He got this one 20 feet from the boat, and it got off. He said that was it, he had it, and put his rods away. When he started his motor, one skipped, he put his boat in gear, two skipped, and all the way across Black Point, they were skipping behind his boat. If I was with him, I would be on the phone calling his doctor to get a later appointment.
I had already asked why he did not use his net on the first one, and I was not about to give him one more recommendation on what he should have done. The fish he has been catching have been smaller, and he is using a smaller hook for them.
The boat is ready, the gear is ready, and the wind will be calm enough for my sister and me to go this Saturday, but her granddaughters will be out of school, and their mother is not "available" to watch them. It is going to be hard for us to get many hours of fishing time. When they are in school, we can not leave until 9 in the morning and need to be in by 2 or at the latest 2:30. Who knows, that might be all my old body can take.
