wild rabbit in backyard
There has been a wild rabbit that likes to hang out in our driveway. It is always by itself which I do not understand, unless everything I have heard about rabbits and how they like to hang out together is not true, they call it a warren of rabbits. This one is always alone, maybe he felt lonely in a crowd and left his warren. Playing with humans in trucks is much more fun.

It does not matter if we are coming or going, he will be there, he likes to stand there until you get the truck ten feet from him, then he will hop about five feet and stop and look back at us. He will play this game until he gets tired of it, then he will hop into the woods and we can drive home. This has been going on for 5 or 6 months.

We are sure this is the same rabbit. A few days ago my husband was telling me about a rabbit in our driveway. He said the rabbit was all stretched out, laying across it. He moved the truck so close that he could no longer see the rabbit. Afraid to move forward, he got out of the truck and when he stepped on the ground, the rabbit ran off from in front of the truck.

The day before yesterday I had to take my daughter to the hospital, she was having breatheing issues. We were halfway down our driveway, I saw the rabbit, it was stretched out. He is the size of Rudy, but laying there all stretched out, you would think it had to be a jackrabbit, he looked two feet long. I pulled up about ten feet from it. The rabbit sat up but would not move, I pulled the truck closer, it still sat there. This time I pulled up to where I could not see it in front of the truck. We sat there a bit and I started to take my seatbelt off when my daughter said she will see if it was there. She got out of the truck and almost to the front when the rabbit ran off. I guess this is his new game.

At the hospital, they gave my daughter a breathing treatment and a steriod shot, also they wrote her prescriptions for her breathing machine. The doctor listened to her lungs and says, "You have COPD"? I told him yes she does. Then he asked if she smokes, I said yes. He asked me if he could headbutt her, I told him if he thought it would help, to go for it.

As for me, after leaving ice on my knee, it felt much better last night. But I woke at midnight and could not move it without it being unbearable. I have ice on it again this morning and it might be feeling better but I still can not walk.

It's like the rabbit 🐰 is enjoying human company than with its warren. I wish your daughter a quick recovery too.
