5 minute freewrite 2232 prompt stimulation
This is my post for #freewriters 2232 prompt stimulation hosted by @mariannewest and @daily.prompt
I am not sure how many pineapple plants I have, but it all started with one pineapple, we ate it and I said I was going to see if I could grow one. It was a few years ago, I can not remember how many, but I got my first pineapple, and now I get pineapples every year.
I give a pineapple stimulation with love and food. The only food I have for them is the fertilizer that we give the areca palms but they seem to like it. I keep the weeds away from them and if no one is around, I might even talk to them.
Most have a single crown, but some plants put off new plants plus the crown on the one I picked, this is how I get more plants.
I have grown them with a double-crown
This one is the same as the first photo, it has lost most of its reddish color and has a multitude of crowns, I have never had one with this many.
Now all of the red color is gone and I can not count how many crowns it has. The pineapple is also the biggest one that I have grown and it is still growing. I had to brace it to keep it from falling over.
I like to let them get fully ripe before picking. This one fell over but I did not think it was on the ground, I wanted it to get a little riper. I checked it a few days after taking this pic and it had gnats flying around it. The other side was on the ground and had rotted. I was upset that I let this happen. The crown was even rotten and I do not see another plant on the mother plant. This is disheartening.
photos are mine
Something about you allegedly talking to your pineapples reminded me of this song about playing music for plants, the alleged evils of rock & roll, and the alleged inherent sinfulness of even "Christian" music:
Audio Adrenaline didn't usually close their albums with humorous songs, although the prior album had a hidden remix track on the CD release.
That was an interesting tune.
