Hello #Caturday. Today I’m happy to share this story about our cat Pipi. She came into our home a year ago. Suddenly, after she’d been in her new home for two months, she showed up in the backyard. We don’t know how she got in, since everything is fenced in. She looked so skinny that we started feeding her. She was so hungry that she wouldn’t stop meowing loudly and wouldn’t leave the area from the kitchen to the garage. I had to teach her to stay there; I wasn’t going to let her into the house. At that time, I didn’t like cats.
I set feeding times for her separate from ours, because my sister had a cat that ate at the same time, and it was a disaster.
Then I had to add cat food to my weekly shopping list. Luckily, stores sell that kind of product now. Years ago, that wasn’t the case.
Months went by, and she had four kittens. But a neighbor’s cat 🐱 got into the yard and killed two of them. A few days later, we noticed one was sick, but it was too late, and it died. Only one remained. She’s now 11 months old. In those 11 months, she gave birth again—three males. Now there are five cats.

Hoy tengo el placer de compartir esta situación de la gata Pipi, hace un año, llegó a nuestro hogar, de repente despues de tener dos meses en la casa nueva, apareció en el patio, no sabemos como entró, ya que todo está cercado. La vimos tan delgada que la empezamos a alimentar. Tenía tanta hambre que no dejaba de maullar fuertemente y no dejaba salir desde la cocina hasta el garage. Tenía que enseñarle que debia quedarse por alli, no iba a permitirle la entrada a la casa. Para ese momento no me gustaban los gatos.
Le estableci horarios de alimentación fuera de la nuestra, porque mi hermana tenia una que comia a la misma hora y era un desastre.
Luego tuve que adicionar a mis compras semanales el alimento para gatos. Por suerte ahora en los comercios se vende ese tipo de articulo. Hace años atras esto no ocurría.
Pasaron los meses y tuvo 04 crios. Pero hubo un gato 🐱 de algun vecino, entró al patio y mató a dos. Luego a los dias se observa que habia uno enfermo, pero era tarde, y murió. Quedó solo una. Ya tiene 11 meses. En esos onces meses volvió a parir, 03 machos. Ahora son 05 gatos.
She went into heat, a male cat jumped into the yard, and he got to her—she’s pregnant again. I couldn’t get her spayed in time; between saving up the money to contact the vet and following the necessary steps, the situation got complicated.
I’ve noticed that after she used to lick and play with her kittens, now she seems bitter—she doesn’t want to be near them and pushes them away. I think she wants to be alone, so after she eats, I move her to the other garden until it’s time for her next meal.
The 11-month-old amber-colored cat is in heat and meowing terribly, and we’re constantly chasing away the neighbors’ cats; we’re contacting the vet to schedule the surgery.
ESPAÑOLEntró en celo un macho saltó al patio, el gato nos ganó, otra vez preñada. No pude esterilizarla a tiempo, juntando el dinero para contactar al veterinario y el protocolo, se nos complicó la situación.
Observo que despues que lamia y jugaba con sus crios, ahora anda como amargada no quiere estar cerca de ellos, los empuja. Creo que quiere estar sola, entonces despues de comer la paso al otro jardin, hasta que le toca la otra ración de comida.
La gata ambar de 11 meses está en celos y maulla terriblemente, y nosotros a cada rato espantando los gatos de los vecinos, estamos contactando al veterinario para cuadrar la operación.
It’s not easy to have cats, but my daughter dreamed that one day she could have one—and now there are five, and there might be even more soon. In this city, people have cats without taking responsibility for them; they often roam the streets, scavenging and rummaging through the trash for food. When we feed ours, they come in droves from the rooftops. But we can’t afford to feed that many.
I’ve thought about putting them up for adoption, but people aren’t culturally prepared for it—it’s a process. For now, they’ll stay here, and I’ll keep digging into my own pocket. Plus, I’ll make sure to give them good care.
ESPAÑOLNo es fácil tener gatos, pero mi hija soñaba que algun dia podria tener uno, pero ahora hay cinco, y posiblemente sean mas dentro de poco. En esta ciudad se tiene gatos sin responsabilidad, muchas veces andan por los alrededores rebuscando y merodeando la basura para alimentarse. Cuando damos de comer a los nuestros, por los techos vienen en tropeles. Pero no nos alcanzan para tanto.
He pensado darlos en adopción, pero la gente no está preparada culturalmente, es un proceso. Por ahora estarán aqui, seguiré estirando el bolsillo. Ademas brindandoles una buena atención.

Yo de tener casa, habría hecho lo mismo. Pipi se parece mucho a mi Aramis, pero ella si llegó con invitación y cachorrita. A los 8 meses, de una la esterilicé para evitar esos enamoramientos.
Espero puedas esterilizarlas, para evitar más gatos en casa, pues los machos usualmente cuando entran en la etapa adulta se van detrás de las gatas, y en muchos casos no vuelven.
