Star Trek: Discovery Season 1 Episode 14 Review

Hello movie lovers. The first thing that came to my mind after watching this episode of Star Trek: Discovery was that the story is getting more complex and interesting as it progresses. There was such a tense tension from beginning to end that I didn't let it get boring for a moment. I usually pay more attention to the visuals and action when watching science fiction series, but in this episode, the mental state of the characters drew me in more.

The most noticeable thing was Michael Burnham. I found this character a little different from the beginning. Because he always tries to understand the situation and make decisions rather than following the rules. That was clear in this episode too. There was a restlessness in his eyes, but at the same time there was confidence. It seemed that he understood that something big was going to happen.

I had my suspicions about Captain Lorca since the previous episode. But in this episode, he seemed more mysterious. His way of speaking, behavior, and decisions did not seem very natural. Sometimes it seemed like he was thinking a few steps ahead of everyone else. At other times, he also seemed to have a much darker mindset. This is what made the character stand out.

I always like Saru. Because he always thinks about the safety of the crew. In this episode too, he looked very worried. But despite his inner fear, he performed his duty properly. In some scenes, his expressions seemed very real.

Tilly's presence, as always, lightened the episode a little. When there is an atmosphere of tension and fear around, I like his simple conversations. When you see him, it seems like there are still some normal people inside the ship. His character is very simple and real.

The thing about Stamets is what made me think the most in this episode. After using the spore drive, his behavior changes completely. Seeing him, it seemed like he was stuck between reality and something else. His scenes were very strange but interesting at the same time.

The atmosphere of this episode was very dark. Especially the scenes in the mirror universe were great. The lighting, the costumes, the set design—everything combined to create a unique feeling. Many scenes were so beautifully crafted that I was just staring at the screen for a few seconds.

Another thing I really liked was that nothing was rushed in this episode. Each scene slowly moved the story forward. As a result, the events towards the end had more impact. The final moments in particular really surprised me.

I personally think the real strength of this episode is its mystery and the inner changes in the characters. It's not just space battles or technology that are shown here, but it also shows how much people can change when they get powers.

Overall, I really liked this episode. This is a great episode for those who like to find depth in the story, not just action. Now, to be honest, my interest in watching the next episode has increased even more.
