Solar Eclipse 2027, Where to Watch and What to Expect? What will this cosmic scene look like for India?
How are you all, I hope you are all doing well. I am presenting you with some very important news. I hope you enjoy reading this news.
Solar eclipse is undoubtedly one of the extraordinary events of nature, this spectacle gives us a rare opportunity to see the sun we know every day in a different way. One such amazing moment is coming on August 2, 2027. This day, the solar eclipse, known as the 'Great North African Eclipse', will turn day into night for about six minutes in some places on the earth.
For those who are interested in space and planets and stars, this eclipse is going to be a special experience. Imagine, the entire sky suddenly went dark at noon! The birds will be silent, the air will cool, a clear glow will form around the sun. Then it will be visible to the naked eye, which is not possible to see on a normal day at all.
What is a solar eclipse and why does it happen?
Typically, when the full disc of the sun is blocked by the moon, it is the only time I would refer to a solar eclipse, which we humans refer to as a 'total solar eclipse'. Essentially, this eclipse happens when the moon passes in front of the earth and the sun and it is fully shadowed by the sun. The 2027 eclipse is not just the best time of the year to witness one, according to scientists, it’s one of the longest total solar eclipses people can experience on Earth — lasting for around 6 minutes.
Where can the total solar eclipse be seen?
The solar eclipse won’t pass over India entirely. Instead, Africa, Europe and Middle East will be in deep darkness. Spain, Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and some nearby cities will get to see the total eclipse directly. Luxor in Egypt will get to see this for the longest time. It will be as dark as midday or night for almost 6 minutes.
Yes, this solar eclipse will be visible from the sky of India too but only partially. People in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and many other cities will see a part of the sun covered by the moon’s shadow from 4:30 pm onwards. But it won’t be dark entirely. If the sky is clear, this partial eclipse will be visible till sunset.
Unlike a normal sunset, this eclipse will have contrasts in light, weather changes and silence around it will make it unforgettable. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all science enthusiasts and curious ones, since this long eclipse may not come again in this lifetime.
So who wants to witness this rare event, keep an eye out and of course use the right glasses to watch the eclipse safely. Enjoy and be safe everyone!
This is really educating! Didn't know this much about the eclipse, just 6 minutes of darkness haha. I don't think I've taken note of it when it happened in the past.
Hopefully, I'll see the next one if God keeps us all alive till then.
Before i use to think eclipse last for hours.
