Yields Drop, But SOL Keeps Shining In A Bear Market | DeFi Journey #7

Another week in my DeFi journey, and it has been a rough one. The crypto market continues to struggle, with Trump's tariffs and trade war tensions dragging everything down. I covered the latest market news in my SPS technical analysis blog this week. Despite the bearish crypto market conditions, I harvested $19.68 in fees, a dip from last week's $25.12. My total deposits increased by $35.24 to $4928.71, with most of that going into the USDC/cbBTC and SOL/USDC CLP positions. However, the current value of my DeFi portfolio sits at $2916.79, meaning I am still down $1568.05, including fees, since I started this journey when ETH was at $3.3k. ETH, which is 75% of my portfolio, continues to underperform, dropping below $1.6k this week. Both of my ETH CLP positions stayed in range after last week's rebalancing, but the overall market sentiment remains bearish, as I discussed in my SPS analysis.

I harvested $5.93 this week, bringing total rewards to $178.46. My deposit remains $2213.00, and the current value is $1148.01, with a yearly APR of 37.19%.

This position has been punching way above its weight in the month of April, and that is due to SOL performing well in comparison to ETH.

Concluding Thoughts

This week's $19.68 harvested is a step down from last week's $25.12, averaging less than $3 a day. The market's bearish trend, driven by Trump's tariff policies, is making things tough. SOL, however, is showing resilience, which aligns with my SOL/USDC position performing well. ETH, on the other hand, continues to be a pretender and is making this DeFi journey tougher than I had anticipated.
