What were you incompetent at,
but with hard work and effort,
you became an expert? Explain.

Today I can say, "Digital Immigrant," as those of us born before 1990 were labeled, in the case of technology use. My work was always in the field of education. Elementary education for children and university education. I shared my daily life in both environments.

At that time, with the computer boom, something new for many, in education, especially elementary education, it was out of the question. On the contrary, my colleagues' fear of this was enormous. The anguish about this was evident on their faces, wondering how to use it, how they were going to learn when we didn't feel prepared yet.

Since part of my teaching work was at the university level, my vision was different. I saw everything that would benefit us in different aspects, to streamline certain processes.

I signed up for every course they told us about, given this. My support at university was the secretary of the business school I attended. She gave me a lot of guidance on how to use a computer, how to create documents, and how to use some programs. The time I had to do my internship without being bothered was on Friday afternoons, when no one wanted to go to the university. I arrived early and left last because my interest was to use the computer without so many doubts.

Then came how to use technology in education, strategies, platforms, and how to encourage students to accept these forms of learning. Just as it was a time of fear for teachers, it was also a big change for students; some liked it, others didn't.

My conclusion at the time was that students liked using technology, but they weren't as interested in using it as a strategy to improve their professional development; more than once they told us to stick with the normal assessment strategies. Well, that was how this path in this world went.

I don't consider myself an expert in information and communication technologies in education because every day we learn new things or different ways of doing things in this technological world. Technology is overwhelming.

What I am sure of is that I dedicated time willingly to learning, and university students asked me why I invented so much.

This area of education has certainly advanced a lot, although learning shouldn't stop here. Currently, there are certifications for working with Artificial Intelligence in the area of Education and how to approach it to achieve accurate learning regarding its use.

I was incompetent in the use of technology because at that time it was the new thing. At that time, those of us who took a step forward led us to create a different perspective on how this world works in many ways. We didn't forget traditional strategies, but creativity led us to combine content with innovative strategies to motivate students to use them.

Technology has really changed a lot of things. Not just education, I think almost every profession has advanced in the aspect of using technology for things.
It's only right that one is aware and know how to use it

Yes, of course, technology was already established in other fields before reaching education.
