Throughout our lives, there are always wonderful moments that don't require spending money. They happen unexpectedly. Sometimes we rack our brains thinking about expenses when we go somewhere or receive an invitation, because social norms often dictate that even when invited to an event, we feel obligated to contribute something, to bring something to share. Sometimes people tell us, "You shouldn't have bothered." I think, if you don't bring anything, then what's the criticism? I answer myself: Why would they invite you?
I'm one of those people who, when it was my turn to host celebrations at my house, I was grateful that nothing was ever lacking and I always had enough money to cover everything.

One of the moments I enjoyed most, one that filled me with joy, and which I did on weekdays for others while I was on vacation, was traveling from Caracas (Venezuela) to Puerto la Cruz (Anzoátegui, Venezuela). My siblings lived there because they were studying at the university, so I would travel. Everyone else would go to work, and I would take a bus to the beach. I only spent money on the fare because I brought my own water and just wanted to be alone facing the sea. The sea and me, alone, listening to the rhythm of the waves. I did that in my younger days, and how I enjoyed it.
Facing the sea, on the sand, listening to the breeze that surrounded me and the ebb and flow of the waves. Very few people on the beach. Now I think, alone and without a care that anything could happen to me. Thank God I always felt protected, and how I enjoyed those moments. I did it several times, and then, as the years go by, everything changes with each activity we undertake, and they become a part of us.
