When was the last weekend you did something completely different from what you usually do?
Explain what it was and why you did it.

Weekends have generally always been, and continue to be, a way to relax a bit from the busy days of each week, depending on your work schedule. There are also weekends when, for work reasons, you must fulfill your commitments; we all have some experience from that, in some way.

I remember working even on Saturdays in the education area.

When Monday comes, people are already organizing what non-work activities will take place on the weekend. Some go to the beach, the countryside, others just stay home to organize the house, clean, or other reasons... or simply for health reasons, it's better to rest. When that Thursday arrives, it seems like the weekend antennas are activated. It's something internal that happens, or our brain tells us it's time to do something different.

Usually, since I've been on indefinite vacation (that's what I call the process of being retired), things aren't planned like they used to. If you have to stay home, you have to stay home, it just arrives. Without any planning, because before, I did it with scheduling and everything to make it through the weekend.

It wasn't one weekend, but two, which was different. Very different.

A family event was approaching, a wedding where everyone's joy was felt, not so much because of the wedding celebration itself, but because the family was going to gather for a very joyful celebration. Given everything we've experienced in our country, Venezuela, these kinds of gatherings usually become very intimate for some families due to the costs. Those of us who didn't attend understand, and we regret it just the same.

Well, this time we were all invited, well, those of us who live in the city, who haven't yet left the country. This was about six weeks ago: the first different weekend was the women's get-together, just with the bride (future wife). We went to a nightclub, talked, laughed, danced, drank, and even got mad at the DJ for not accommodating their requests... it was a very joyful and enthusiastic weekend. I laughed a lot at the anecdotes after leaving the place. I think all the stress of the week melted away.

Then, the next weekend was the formal wedding celebration. That celebration lasted about 48 hours for some, longer for others. The day after the wedding continued in a pool setting. This was a truly different weekend. I forgot about everything for this weekend. It was very relaxing, seeing the family together, sharing dances, conversations, and the food was a must.

I'm so glad you broke out of your normal retirement weekend routine, ha ha ha. We both know what that's like, since we're both at that stage in our lives now.
On the other hand, it's great that the family was able to get together on such a festive occasion. The photos show what a wonderful time you all had. Thanks for sharing, my friend. Hugs!

Oh yes, my friend @brujita18, those weekends were great. We had a lot of fun and reunited with several family members. We also made new friends with the bride's family. I danced a lot.

Our indefinite vacation is wonderful, ha ha ha...let the party begin any day of the week. We don't have a schedule.
