La pesca es una actividad que apetece a muchas personas, donde tengan espacios para realizarla, como hobbies, o de verdad para tener algo de comer, que mejor que buscarlo en la propia naturaleza. Se vienen las lluvias y el río crece, crece, cada vez se escucha que los niveles de las aguas del rio Orinoco pasa los niveles normales. Para muchos es normal que ocurra esto en tiempos de lluvias. Viene el tiempo de la Sapoara es otra tradición muy celebrada en estos espacios.

Recordar el río Orinoco es imperativo, me mantuve casi 7 años viajando semanalmente a la UCV (núcleo que existe en Ciudad Bolívar como sistema EUS) en esos tiempos no existía aún el puente Orinoquia, pasábamos el Puente Angostura, impresionante pasar por él y observar la famosa piedra que tiene sus historias en el centro del río cerca del puente.

Cuando el río estaba crecido todos los viajeros del autobús posábamos la mirada a buscar donde se veía tal piedra, los espacios cerca del rio se observaban inundados, igual sus pobladores se mantenían en ellos.

Siempre mi pregunta ¿Cómo pueden hacer vida es estos espacios? Una pregunta que quizás para ellos no tiene sentido, está la otra parte de sus vidas se acostumbran a tener lo necesario porque saben que en las crecidas pueden perderlo todo…así les pasa la vida.

El río Orinoco es impresionante mirarlo de cerca, parece que no tiene fin, a donde dirigimos la mirada no tiene límites así como el mar, ni pensar en la profundidad, recuerdo que yo ni me acercaba a la orilla o espacios donde estaba permitido, me quedaba a cierta distancia de allí alimentaba mi vista y decía Dios que impresionante lo que creaste, una fuerza se observa en sus aguas, calmado en la superficie sin saber las tormentas en las profundidades.

Fishing is an activity that appeals to many people, whether they have the space to do it as a hobby or to actually catch something to eat. What could be better than seeking it out in nature itself? The rains are coming and the river is rising, rising, and we keep hearing that the water levels of the Orinoco River are exceeding normal levels. For many, this is normal during the rainy season. The Sapoara season is another tradition that is widely celebrated in these areas.

Remembering the Orinoco River is imperative. I spent almost seven years travelling weekly to the UCV (a centre that exists in Ciudad Bolívar as part of the EUS system). At that time, the Orinoquia Bridge did not yet exist, so we crossed the Angostura Bridge. It was impressive to cross it and see the famous rock with its stories in the middle of the river near the bridge.

When the river was high, all the passengers on the bus would look for the stone. The areas near the river were flooded, but the inhabitants remained there.

I always wondered how they could live in such places. Perhaps this question makes no sense to them. They are used to having only the bare necessities because they know that when the river rises, they can lose everything...that's how their lives are.

The Orinoco River is impressive when viewed up close. It seems endless; wherever we look, there are no limits, just like the sea. Don't even think about the depth. I remember that I didn't even go near the shore. I stayed at a certain distance from it, feasting my eyes and saying, ‘God, how impressive is what you have created.’ A force can be seen in its waters, calm on the surface, unaware of the storms in the depths.
