Some jobs are essential during the holidays. Have you ever had to work during the holidays? If not, have you done anything for someone who does?

I didn't have that experience working during the holidays because my work has always been in education. Therefore, those weeks were filled with household activities that became especially colorful during that time. Music at home, Christmas carols, bagpipes, baking cookies and hot chocolate, and going out to enjoy the decorations in the plazas.

My husband did have to work during the holidays, and we always eagerly awaited his return so we could spend time together and enjoy each other's company.

Home decorating always began in the first days of November to welcome December, the last month of the year, a reminder of the birth of the Christ Child, and to celebrate all the commercial activity that this time of year has always generated.

This year, the decorations were very different from previous years, starting with the date. It wasn't at the beginning of November but in December for several reasons. I've mentioned in various posts that this year the decorations changed a bit; fewer ornaments were used. My Nativity scene is a must, even if it's not elaborately decorated. I find great joy in keeping it simple, and that way it fulfills its purpose in my home. I didn't use flowers, which I usually place in different areas of the house. Outside, I haven't put garlands around the windows for several years, but I did use lights—lots of lights. I don't use a Christmas tree, but I always decorate a leafy palm tree with lights, a tree that still gives us its green branches throughout the year.

Algunos trabajos son esenciales durante las fiestas. ¿Alguna vez has tenido que trabajar durante las fiestas? Si no, ¿has hecho algo por alguien que sí lo hace?

Trabajar en tiempos de fiestas no viví esa experiencia porque mi dedicación siempre fue en el área de educación, por lo tanto esas semanas estaban llenas de actividades hogareñas que se llenaban de color en esas épocas. Música en casa aguinaldos, gaitas, hacer galletas, chocolate, salir un poco a disfrutar de las decoraciones de las plazas.

Mi esposo si le tocaba trabajar en días de fiestas y siempre lo esperabas con ansias cuando le tocaba regresar, para compartir y pasar un rato agradable.


¿Ya has decorado para las fiestas o planeas hacerlo? Muéstranos un poco de tu espacio y cuéntanos sobre tu decoración.

La decoración en el hogar siempre comenzaba en los primeros días de noviembre, para dar la bienvenida al mes de diciembre por ser el último mes del año, el recordatorio del nacimiento del Niño Dios y todas las actividades comerciales que estas fechas siempre han generado.

Esta vez, se hizo la decoración muy diferente a las anteriores, comenzando con la fecha, no fue a principios de noviembre sino de diciembre por diferentes razones, en varios escritos he comentado que este año cambió un poco la decoración, se utilizaron menos adornos, mi nacimiento (pesebre) no puede faltar así no tenga una decoración fantástica, me llena mucho colocarlo sencillo y así cumple su misión en mi hogar, no usé flores que siempre colocaba algunas en diferentes espacios de la casa, fuera de la casa llevo varios años que no coloco las guirnaldas alrededor de las ventanas, pero eso sí, luces, muchas luces. No uso árbol de Navidad, pero siempre decoro con luces una planta de palma frondosa que aún nos regala sus ramas verdes durante todo el año.

Hii unfortunately for some years I worked during the holidays too especially when I was in a cake factory and when I worked as a nurse assistant, my hubby too often work during holidays because he doing shifts in a factory, by the way it's nice that you prepare home and decorate it's a kind of job important too during Holidays ❤️❤️

I enjoy the Nativity aspect of Christmas most of all.
I now own my late Roommate's Nativity collection that expresses the historical event in different forms. My favorite is a porcelain set that I remember that she had put out every Christmas. I think she would enjoy your arrangement very much.

I enjoy the Nativity aspect of Christmas most of all.

There are two of us. I have a collection of three games from my first year of marriage, and then others came along. I've wanted to buy one every year, although it's not out of the question, hoping that the financial situation in our country will stabilize a bit and we can do things we've been putting off. Also, hoping that our online activities will be more fruitful.
