July 8, 2026, Prompt Day 3158: Renouncing Power
Relinquishing power is an excellent proposal, one that for many is not the best option. Power is power; it's feeling powerful in the face of situations that can be changed or in relation to people who depend on it.
Relinquishing power is sometimes a prayer for many, especially in the political sphere, when it's known that those in power don't contribute, only create problems, and diminish what we believe is improving. Renouncing power is something many of us long for because of these groups that, in one way or another, affect others.
Power is power, so why is it so difficult to renounce it? Different emotions and feelings come into play; perhaps these people think that if they relinquish power, they will lose a great deal. However, I believe that renouncing power is a personal liberation, a letting go and moving forward. Those in power, instead of improving, act in the opposite way.
