July 29, 2026, Prompt Day 3179: I'm Not Your Mother
Carlitos runs out of his classroom, arrives at the school exit, and waits, waits a long time, not knowing what's happening, why they haven't come for him. Hours pass and no one comes looking for Carlitos.
A teacher notices what's happening, observes that the boy is still there, no one is looking for him.
The teacher approaches and asks his name, and also who is coming to pick him up. The boy answers with a smile, but still no one comes. The teacher asks again, the boy doesn't answer. Then he says: take me with you, I'm tired. The teacher replies, wait. The teacher went to the school office and began asking about this boy, no one gives her any answers. They call the numbers and no one answers. Doubt begins, and answers arise such as: he was abandoned, what would happen, who else could be this child's family.
The child sees the teacher again and says, "Take me with you." The teacher replies, "I am not your mother." Seeing the time, they reach an agreement, signed in writing, that the teacher would take the child with her for the night, returning in the morning, but would no longer be responsible for him.
The child is happy because he is very hungry and sleepy. The teacher reminds him again, "I am not your mother."
