Pleasing oneself is a very personal decision. This comes when we begin to understand that we come first. Typically, for generations we've been taught to put others first, before thinking about ourselves.


Truly, when we realized this, many years have passed. Pleasing myself has been a process of realizing that one comes first, then others, and no, it's not selfish, it's part of that self-love we hear so much about.


As simple as realizing that when we serve a plate of food, we serve everyone else, and the last plate is mine. When we realize this, changing this habit means turning many things around. It's fair, it's not selfish... just like our personal grooming, nails, hair, and other things, it's realizing we can enjoy those little things we forget to take care of others.


It's fair, it's not selfish to please myself.
