My week got busy and I am late in posting to the RED contest this week! If you have five RED photos and would like to join in, do it fairly soon because the contest will be ending on Friday and winners will be announced on Saturday.

The red British call box is seen as a cultural icon throughout the world and this one is appropriately placed in a display of classic British motorcycles at the Batber Vintage Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham Alabama in the US.

These are two of the brilliant red birds that visit my backyard. The first is a Northern Cardinal which is a common sight, and the second is a Scarlet Tanager which I see very infrequently.

Burning bush (Euonymous alatus that turns a brilliant red in autumn. This shrub easily reseeds itself and is invasive. It is now illegal to plant it in several states.

This is the bridge across the lake in the Botanical garden in our town. The lake was formed when a gravel quarry was dug and then abandoned many years ago.

And red flowers! Verbena and roses are the two I chose to include.

A few of these photos are from my archives and it's possible I may have used them before in the previous 6 years.

Pues acá me tendrás frecuentemente. Lo que más me gusta es la libertad que te dan con las fotos, porque muchas veces hacemos algunas capturas bonitas, y no las podemos utilizar siempre. Así que nada, vamos a esperar esos colores ... Saludos y cariños @melinda010100

Great RED photos. I love the Birmingham museum photo. I've actually been to Birmingham but just a quick visit nothing fun. Nice capture of the scarlet tanager! We see them but they are quick to move on. Quicker than our camera 🙁 I have a burning bush I found after clearing away some under brush when we first moved in. I was trying to encourage it but now I realize its invasive. There is a lot around here. Planted around houses. Maybe the word hasn't made it here that its invasive 🙄

I don't worry about it too much as it seems to only invade the road ditches along the edges of the woods. It must need more sun than what it can get growing in the woods, so it never seems to spread very far. And I think it looks quite pretty along the edges of the woods in the fall. Massachusetts and New Hampshire have laws against selling it.

I see red - great photos!! I like the bridge and the birds. Pity that shrub's so invasive - it's beautiful. I have never seen that tree.

Thanks! I have two burning bushes that self seeded at the corner of my deck. They are in an ideal spot so I let them grow there and they have grown big enough that I think they will be really pretty this fall!

indeed i used to live in Amsterdam from +/- 1967 till 1997 , i grew up in Amsterdam - West " overtoomseveld" 😁, but your post is still in time 🙃
