Australian Bush Walk

Australian Bush Walk

How we doing Lions? I've been a bit on the low lately as I am battling a few things and I decided to take off to the bush to escape the rate race.

One of our go to locations is Euston in New South Wales. While pronounced the same as Huston Texas and very much a farming, agricultural town with cattle, live stock and what you'd consider Aussie cow boys and is quite a conservative town.

It's named after Euston in Suffolk, England which was held by the Dukes of Grafton.

The life blood is the mighty Murray River which commences in the Australian Alps which are some of the largest Alps on the planet and stretches for 2508kms reaching the ocean and provides fresh water for 3 states.

It is also considered the boarder of Victoria and New South Wales. During summer months this part of the world booms with tourism as many Australians flock for the fishing, water sports and the great outdoors.

There is a lot of Aussie wildlife ranging from Kangaroos, Eagles and even emus.

All along the Murray River are ancient sites dating back 30,000 years+ as it has always provided humans with the ability to not just survive but thrive.

Australia is void of major predators other than humans so most places are safe to walk and trek, even the Dingo isn't much of a threat as they're more a timid type of dog.

Roos and Emus can be quite dangerous if you present as a threat and an Emus claws can slice through aluminium sheeting and even steel. So best not to get up close and personal.

Down these ways we don't have any predators in the waters so no crocodiles to be to worried about, nor sharks. But fishing is great and you can eat most things you catch despite the growth in carp which is an invasive species.

I'll pop up some more videos once I get a bit more internet reception so in the meantime, follow along as we share a few pictures of our escape to Euston.

Looks amazing! I need to get back down under...been looking into riding a bike from Perth up the west coast to Darwin pitching a tent at night, but not really sure if I can afford to spend that much time or if they'd even allow me to bike along the highway. 🤔
