Genus Gymnopilus

One morning, while visiting my backyard, I was suddenly surprised to discover a cluster of orange mushrooms growing on a dead Trembesi tree. These mushrooms were particularly striking due to their vibrant orange hue, their growth in large clusters, and their relatively large size. I initially attempted to photograph them using a macro lens, but their size made that impractical, so I ended up using my mobile phone camera instead. While they possess a truly unique and captivating appearance, caution is required; they are poisonous and unsafe for consumption, meaning they are best appreciated solely for their beauty. They appear to be at a very early stage of growth, evidenced by their color and a texture that remains quite soft. What intrigued me most was their color—it was so vivid that their beauty was apparent even from a distance.

A few days ago, I also came across this particular mushroom in my plantation; unfortunately, its texture had already turned hard and black, indicating that it was old.
