Thoughts On Burning CA Packs

Today I read the Splinterland's DAO most recent proposal regarding the burning of DAO's CA packs and I have given some thoughts on how to approach this if it comes to fruition.

The summary of the post is to ask players to support the proposal of burning unsold Conclave packs that get transfer to the DAO daily. The end result is less packs in circulation and in turn more chance of winning a Jackpot card.

I won't go into the gambling odds of getting a Jackpot card but it got me thinking about how I can game this proposal if passed. The whole premise to this will increase demand for its pack near the end of its era, which the post dated March 2026. That is less than six months from now.

If demand will rise near the end of Conclave's sale it would mean demand for DEC will spike then. This is partly due to the token being one of the two major currency the in game accepts for purchases. If I remember when Conclave first came out with the pre-sale promotion the demand for DEC indeed was high. It was so high that players were pumping SPS prices and burning for DEC as the latter was in high demand.

Chart comparing SPS to USD past history during the time of presale SPS was rising in price. It almost doubled at its peak during that uptrend. Now SPS currently sitting near all time lows of $0.0065. Ever heard of the phrase buy low and sell high?

There are seven days before we know if this proposal passes to be official, but currently it appears it will go through. With 97% of the votes in favor it sure looks like this will past. That will mean we have less than six months to prepare for what could be the biggest boom in Splinterlands to date.

The potential of scoring big near the end of Conclave will surely have a lot of attention and demand. The question will be will players begin to accumulate now or prices of assets continue to fall. I personally am not waiting and have steadily begun adding to my DEC stake. My plan of getting to 250k SPS stake is given an additional reason to do so now. Are you not excited as me?
