Strategy To Passively Earn More

News came of in game tournaments supported by Splinterlands for all range of players to partake. Even if players own no cards could play. I then took a peak at the tournaments and noticed that I could potentially play the tournaments just by entering the ones that I was qualify for and remain active in at least the first round to potentially come out ahead. Lets do the math to confirm.

Current price of DEC for SPS is about 25 DEC per SPS. The tournament distributes SPS but entry fee are in DEC. Some tournaments really have sizable SPS rewards even at the bottom of the ranks. This is where things get interesting.

In a basic bronze modern tournament the entry fee is 100 DEC. Top 128 players will win SPS and at 65th to 128th its 26.6 SPS. This is close to 665 DEC. Now how could I expect to make sure I am in the top 128 players? Simply by expecting there won't be more than 128 players signing up. Currently 110 signups, but close.

The other requirements are staked SPS and collection powers that qualify in specific events. As shown below another opportunity to yield more with just entering the tournament.

Silver league modern tournament with less rewards but currently not close to 128 participants. It will still yield a profit as entry fee is 100 DEC.

In terms of opportunity cost I will have to hold onto the staked SPS in lieu of leasing them out for passive DEC. The 6k SPS staked or even up to 30k SPS staked in other tournaments, the end is I will yield a more with the SPS. It is very tempting to play this route and I am tempted to see right before entry to these tournaments will there exceed the amount of participants to earn 100% in rewards. If it exceeds I may not partake. On the flip side its another opportunity to stake SPS making it a bit closer for my plan to reaching 250k SPS staked.
