End of Current Printed Soulbound Cards!
News came out a couple of days now and latest Splinterland posts discusses more about the existing Soulbound cards and next season new cards. If I understand the new cards technically arrive next season. This means I have one last chance to be buying old soul bound cards.
I regret not playing more often in recent weeks but heck I was having my priorities straightened. Now knowing there is a hard set date I am aiming for at least max epic set of reward cards before the cutoff. I currently have a little over 40k glint and have already bought full batch one of common and rares.
I am unlikely getting the legendaries but think at the very least some epics is reasonable target.
In terms of if I want to unbound my rewards I am still deciding. I wish to max my regular foils and sell gold foil but the cost is very steep. I have a hard time earning Dec so unbound will definitely push a lot of Dec out of my diamond hands if I go this route.
Hold the soul bound cards too long I will never be able to unbound them after 180 days. This is a great idea that Splinterlands came up with and I think it makes the accounts themselves more valuable but further make bot accounts less likely to pursue earning rewards.
In the beginning this whole process of unbound maybe rough because players need to adopt to but I think works really well for the game. It definitely would not flood the market with reward cards and forces players to think twice for playing with bots as future rewards will likely make the same costly unbound cards.
I will discuss in future posts what I will plan to do but for now I’m trying to gain more glint to buy my very last few months of Soulbound cards. What will you be doing with your current stash of soul bound rewards?

I don't think I will unbound any of my soulbound cards. It just doesn't seem worth the costs and the cost of unbounding them is too high. That doesn't even account for the cost of that card as it is.
Yes it’s one reason why I try to boost my quantity of Soulbound cards now.
On the contrary, with this new mechanism to unlock soulbound, very few players will be stupid enough to pay again for the cards they have earned with so much work, and there will be very few cards on the market. After 180 days when all cards are blocked again the bot account owners will start selling those accounts at huge profits. That is to say, if this mechanism is the one that will be imposed for unlocking the soulbound, we are then witnessing the birth of a new source of income for bots. You create an account with $10 and they dedicate themselves to accumulating cards, then when the cards are permanently blocked, probably in a year, they sell the account for 1000% of the investment. All this without needing to unlock the soulbound.
