By "former," I meant he’s no longer in office. His views still resonate, though, as his previous term continues to shape political discussions on policy proposals like raising taxes on millionaires

What you say was true of Trump in December 2024 and as late as January 19th of this year. But Trump is president again, and in office. By late January of 2029 he will (again) be a former president.
