Day of 2026-04-08: Hiring filters, macro noise & controlled drift

Hiring Signal: SQL vs AI

HR requested updates to the interview process. Came just in time to my experience lately, I proposed adjustment is simple but revealing:

  • Ask for an advanced SQL statement, Commen Table expression, something with ranged over, and reducing the time frame from complete to partitioned quarters.

  • Accept two valid answers:

    • A fancy SQL query

    • Or: “I use AI to generate and validate SQL”

This reframes the evaluation:

  • Not about memorization

  • But about problem-solving approach

  • Understanding whether the candidate:

    • Knows the structure

    • Or knows how to leverage tools effectively

It mirrors trading:

Edge doesn’t come from doing everything manually — it comes from using the right tools with awareness of their limits.

Would recommend to learn SQL in detail if you don't want to be came an expert on it.

Macro Layer: No Collapse, But No Resolution

Markets retraced. No immediate breakdown. However, underlying tension remains: announcements indicate agreements are fragile, Information asymmetry continues to influence outcomes and energy markets remain sensitive to escalation.

No armageddon, but no stable resolution either. Iran already announced they gonna try to close the strates again! Get ready for another Oil price rocket.
