Communication and Language
As far as humans continue to exist in the world, communication remains a continual process of passing information through a medium. From the past to the present, there are so many language alternatives that are no longer used in our today's world, these are now replaced with modern language alternatives that help us communicate and understand each other.
In the past, various forms of communication were used, some of which are no longer popular and in use today. Communication is a concept that shapes our world, and imagining a world where understanding each other is difficult, that would be daunting, right? We can convey meaning, be understood, and understand others simply by communicating.

I remember my late grandad telling me how they communicated during their time. Communication is essential in every aspect of our lives. According to him, he said, “We used numbers and signs written on the bare floor to calculate or tell the amount we wanted to charge for work done.” Before we started writing on white sheets, many language alternatives existed, some of which we didn't even know existed, some were gradually forgotten, and some still exist today. Among these language alternatives are:
Sign language, a communication method where humans use hands instead of voice to convey meaning. This is mainly used by people who can't talk. Their hand movements represent words which they use to pass information and communicate.
Dothraki, a language from Game of Thrones. It originated from the show, and people who understand it can speak it with each other.
Another is cuneiform, one of the ancient forms of writing. Maybe still in some parts of the world, It is longer as popular as it used to be since some of these methods of passing messages have been replaced by modern era where technology takes the lead. During the primitive era, people wrote using pictures on clay, wood, stones, and rocks to convey meaning and express their thoughts. Cuneiform signs are like picture stories.
Semaphore is another form of language where a message is conveyed through the use of signals. Communication is a broad concept, and in addition to the above mentioned, Braille is also a means of communication for the blind. The visually impaired use this communication method to read.
Though traditional forms of communication are still in use, modernization and technology have provided new language alternatives. With more mobile devices, we can get all our words typed out for us without using our hands. This aids individuals with disabilities. Technology has provided tools for easy interactions with others. Overall, forms of communication are helpful in overcoming the negative effects of ineffective communication.
