Oreo Cake at Charly's: a date full of flavor / Torta Oreo en Charly´s: una cita full de sabor

Every time I go out to run errands with my son, we end up celebrating that we completed our tasks with a delicious snack, preferably somewhere we haven't visited before.

That's why, on our last outing, I saw this small bakery located on a corner in Lanús, which had a quite tempting promotion. So after the necessary purchases of the day, which I will talk about in another post, we went to this starting point to have a sweet treat before heading back home.

Upon entering, we found a small but very cozy place. It had a great selection of sweets, among which it was hard to choose, after finding out that the promotion had ended for the day. From that, we deduced that it was very good, as it was still early for it to be sold out.

We opted for an Oreo cake, filled with custard, to share, and even though I have stopped consuming sugar and sweets of this kind (I only taste them), I confess that in this case the temptation to have more than a bite was stronger.

Although there was coffee and the weather was suitable for something hot, I chose to have a soda instead, as my son doesn't drink coffee, and I have also recently stopped, so succumbing to just one temptation was more than enough, especially because when it was time to pay, I saw some coconut cream tarts that looked too delicious, and since coconut is one of my favorite flavors, I was on the verge of ordering one to go, which would be just for me, as my kids don't like this fruit.

The cost was double that of the promotion, but the portion was also large, so it was well worth what was paid, especially because we ate a lot and were both satisfied and happy.

In addition to the cookie seen on the cake slice, there were also crushed Oreo cookies inside, which were small flavor explosions on the palate (I think that's why I couldn't stop eating!)

Without a doubt, it is an addictive dessert, but in a good way, one that doesn't tire the palate, even if you eat a large portion.

Before leaving, I saw on the menus on the other tables that they also offer sandwiches, so my son and I decided that we must return on a weekend to have breakfast there.

The best part is that being a place for takeout, the atmosphere was calm, very minimalist, and with personalized attention, since after paying, we went to the table to wait for our order to be brought to us, which we found excellent, especially because we ordered little to consume.

As we finished, we left Charly's sandwich shop more than happy. It was the perfect ending to an afternoon of errands, shopping, and a completely unexpected but completely successful mother-son outing.

Cada vez que salgo a hacer diligencias con mi hijo, terminamos celebrando que hicimos los pendientes, con una merienda deliciosa, preferiblemente en algún lugar al que no hayamos visitado con anterioridad.

Por eso, en nuestra última salida, vi esta pequeña panadería ubicada en una esquina de Lanús, que tenía una promoción bastante tentadora. Así que luego de las compras necesarias de ese día, de las que hablaré en otro post, nos fuimos a este punto de partida para comernos un dulce antes de volver a casa.

Al entrar, encontramos un sitio pequeño, pero super acogedor. Tenía una gran oferta de dulces, entre los cuales fue difícil elegir, luego de enterarnos que la promoción se había terminado por ese día. De eso, dedujimos que era muy buena, pues era todavía temprano para que se hubiera agotado.

Optamos por una torta oreo, rellena de crema pastelera, para compartir, y aunque yo he dejado de consumir azúcar y dulces de este tipo (solo los pruebo) me confieso que en este caso pudo más la tentación de comer más que un bocado.

Aunque había café y el clima estaba para tomarse algo caliente, opté por acompañarlo con una gaseosa, ya que mi hijo no toma café, además que yo también dejé de hacerlo hace poco, entonces con sucumbir a una sola tentación era más que suficiente, sobre todo porque al momento de ir a pagar, vi unas tartaletas con crema de coco que se veían demasiado deliciosas, y siendo el coco uno de mis sabores favoritos, estuve a punto de pedir una para llevar, que si sería solo para mi, ya que a mis hijos no les gusta esta fruta.

El costo era el doble del de la promoción, pero la porción también era grande, así que bien valía lo que se pagó, sobre todo porque comimos mucho y quedamos satisfechos y felices los dos.

Además de la galleta que se ve sobre el pedazo de torta, en su interior también habían galletas oreo trituradas, que al paladar eran pequeñas explosiones de sabor (creo que por eso no podía parar de comer!)

Sin duda, es un postre adictivo, pero en el buen sentido, de esos que no cansan al gusto, aunque comas una porción grande.

Antes de irnos vi en los menúes que estaban en las demás mesas, que también ofrecen sandwiches, por lo que con mi hijo decidimos que debemos volver un fin de semana para desayunar ahí.

Lo mejor es que al ser un sitio de comprar para llevar, el ambiente estaba tranquilo, todo muy minimalista y con una atención personalizada, ya que luego de pagar, nos fuimos a la mesa a esperar que nos llevaran el servicio, cosa que nos pareció excelente, sobre todo porque era poco lo que pedimos para consumir.

Ya al terminar, nos fuimos de la sandwichería Charly´s más que contentos. Fue la guinda para una tarde de diligencias, compras y una cita madre e hijo totalmente inesperada pero completamente exitosa.
