Minimalism and fine lines: My tattoo preferences / Minimalismo y líneas finas: Mis preferencias en los tatuajes

Before I got the only tattoo I have, I was not aware of trends or colors in the designs I saw in other people, but I could say what I liked and what I didn't, that is already a way to set positions in terms of tastes, although by then I didn't even think about having one of my own.

When I emigrated to Argentina, the panorama regarding tattoos changed radically, because I went from seeing very few people with tattoos, to being one of the minority that didn't have any. Already with so much exposure to this art on the skin around me, it was inevitable not to detail and admire them beyond the prejudices that had been instilled in me.

In fact, a personal anecdote was my initial fear towards Luis, the guy who gave me the tattoo, because he is covered with thousands of them, of all types and trends, and the impression he gave me was of being a delinquent for everything that during my education I pointed out that involved this concept. Then later with the deal, life took the blindfold off, and I found him to be such a friendly person that I trusted him with my first ink experience.

If I had to choose a favorite style I would be in trouble, because I like two or three, although the beauty of tattooing is that you can mix them together to have a design that encompasses all tastes.

My first choice will always be to opt for a minimalist design. As a lover of miniatures, I always think that “less is more” because it implies saying a strong message with little. They are also tattoos that have a more personal character, as they are not for display as such, because being so simple, it is a message that goes directly to the wearer.

I also like the fine lines, which imply being more detailed at the time of drawing the line. In fact, when I saw the linear tattoo with the feather in @vero10, I was immediately smitten.

And my third option is the floral designs, since I'm not a fan of cutting the ones we see in nature, having flowers that will never wilt during my lifetime is a way to enjoy them without feeling some kind of remorse for pulling them off or cutting them from the plant.

The best part is that all three options can be found in an infinite number of designs, so if I wanted to get a new tattoo, I could have one that encompasses my top 3 preferences.

Antes de hacerme el único tatuaje que poseo, no estaba pendiente de tendencias ni colores en los diseños que veía en las demás personas, pero si podía decir qué me gustaba y qué no, eso ya es una manera de fijar posiciones en cuanto a gustos, aunque para entonces ni pensaba en tener uno propio.

Cuando emigré a Argentina, el panorama con respecto a los tatuajes cambió de manera radical, pues pasé de ver muy pocas personas tatuadas, a ser de la minoría que no tenía ninguno. Ya con tanta exposición a este arte en la piel a mi alrededor, era inevitable no detallarlos y admirarlos más allá de los prejuicios que me habían inculcado.

De hecho, una anécdota personal fue mi temor inicial hacia Luis, el chico que me realizó el tatuaje, pues está cubierto de miles de ellos, de todos los tipos y tendencias, y la impresión que me daba era de ser un delincuente por todo lo que durante mi educación señalaba que involucraba a este concepto. Ya luego con el trato, la vida me quitó la venda, y me resultó ser una persona tan amigable que le confié mi primera experiencia con tinta.

Si tuviera que elegir un estilo favorito estaría en aprietos, pues me gustan dos o tres, aunque lo bonito del tatuaje es que se pueden mezclar entre sí para tener un diseño que abarque todos los gustos.

Mi primera opción siempre será optar por un diseño minimalista. Como amante de las miniaturas, siempre pienso que "menos es más" pues implica decir con poco un mensaje contundente. Además son tatuajes que tienen un carácter más personal, pues no son para exhibición como tal, pues al ser tan simples, es un mensaje que va directo a quien lo porta.

También me gustan las líneas finas, que implican ser más detallista al momento de hacer el trazado. De hecho, cuando vi el tatuaje lineal con la pluma en @vero10, quedé flechada de inmediato.

Y mi tercera opción son los diseños florales, pues como no soy partidaria de cortar las que vemos en la naturaleza, tener unas flores que jamás se marchiten durante mi tiempo de vida es una manera de disfrutarlas sin sentir algún tipo de remordimiento por arrancarlas o cortarlas de la planta.

Lo mejor, es que las tres opciones se pueden encontrar en infinidad de diseños, así que de querer realizarme un nuevo tatuaje, pudiera tener uno que abarque mi top 3 de preferencias.
