Creating a Colorful Duo with My Mom

Part of being a creator is knowing that you can create things for your loved ones using your blessed hands. I find joy seeing my family members wear the stuffs I make for them, it really gives deep satisfaction.

So today in this post I'll be sharing a recent project where I made a matching outfit for my mom 💞 and I, and with vibrant colors that we both loved.

I wanted something colorful and comfortable when I was thinking of making this outfit. My mom loves bright happy colors as much as I do. So we finally settled for the shades you see in the photo and I quickly rushed to buy them.

I feel that colors can say so much without words. They can bring warmth, joy, and confidence.

So while I had the fabric, I carefully laid it out. I started from my mom's own, with a full thinking ability so as to do the right design that will fit her. So I finally made this comfortable flare gown with the plain and patterned fabrics.

For me I decided to go for something very simple and a bit casual that I can also be wearing elsewhere, I just wanted a shirt and trouser so I went for it.

I also laid out my own part of the fabric and carefully imputed my measurements. Nothing very complicated just a simple shirt and trouser.

It took a few evenings to sew everything since I worked on other stuffs during the day. Adding the details to my mom's dress felt really nice. It felt like putting a little bit of my heart on the fabric, and imagining how happy my mom would be wearing it made it even better.

When we both wore our outfit to the event, my mom wore a priceless smile and as people admired the fits. Well I think that's the true reward, seeing someone feel special because of something you made with your hands.

Creators sometimes forget how powerful their creativity can be especially when shared with family. This project reminded me why I love what I do and I want to keep making faces smile with my creative work, and I thank God for the gift.
