A Weaver! - PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 89

Pleasant greetings everyone, glad to have you drop by my blog once again. It's a new week and my wish is for it to be pleasant with you.

Have you seen a Weaver before? Yeah, you read right, but wait a sec!, I don't mean a weaver bird, but the human, lol. Well, I guess both do the same work, one uses yarns and machine (loom) to produce wears, while the other uses grasses, pieces of sticks and of course their beaks to make their homes.
Okay whether you have seen one or not, I've got one for you here.

Weaving is an age long craft and is said to be one of the oldest surviving crafts in the world. It's tradition can be traced back to Neolithic times, about twelve thousand (12,000) years ago.

Weaving is one of the primary methods of textile production which is done by interlinking a set of vertical threads with a set of horizontal threads. It can be done by hand or by using machines (loom), just like the one in the image.

I captured the photos at a trade fair that was organized in my city some time ago. You can see how she's fully immersed in her work. Weaving, just like any other art, demands all carefulness and concentration, else you make a mistake which will affect the production process and end result.

Talking about end result, just behind her, you'll see the beautiful colored sweaters and caps on display there. She's indeed good at her craft and I commend her. I'm sure she'll lead a successful weaving / textile business in the future.
