I use YT when I need to learn something like DIYs (tutorials), or when I want to check product reviews, download audiobooks, or every Tuesday, find music videos that I share on Hive for TTT.
I also use YT when I need a tutorial, especially in a field where visual indications are helpful.
Visual is better than reading steps or instructions :)
I'm a weird guy but I've never been interested in YouTube.
It's not weird. We are all different and it's totally normal that some things appeal to use more than others :-)
I don't use youtube nowadays. its just for watching short videos.
Before i used it for learning purposes (work related).
My youtube is connected to gmail.
I don't create any content.

Thanks a lot for sharing!
I use YouTube very little because I prefer written content to audiovisual content. I have an account and I subscribe to several channels of interest to me but I only log in very occasionally. I use it more to follow live events than to consume videos.
That's an interesting use case.
I use YouTube for learning but now I think there’s a time coming where people will prefer to use 3speak because of its added advantage and the future of the internet
3speak is a great alternative definitely.
I only watch videos on YouTube and little else. :)
Thanks for sharing!
Mostly vids, but I sometimes do search for some music that I don't find on Spotiy too!
That's a good point, I don't really use Youtube for music but it's definitely a good use case.
I use Youtube to watch videos about the economy, sometimes about politics, sometimes to listen to music while I study or work. And sometimes I use it to watch short videos.
I like to browse youtube when I want to learn something. It's sometimes easier for me to learn from videos than from text.
It's true! I've learned a lot of things more easily on YouTube than by reading. My problem is that I don't have the patience to watch videos, I prefer to read most of the time. There are videos in which the youtuber goes on and on about information that could be given in 1 minute, but takes the guy 10 minutes.
I often tend to put 1.5 or 1.75 video speed to get through faster :-)
I use YouTube on average about twice a week. But almost exclusively for entertainment. Being music or stand up comedy.
Because, for learning about anything, I prefer to read. Unless, the video is vital to understanding the process or results.
In the past, I've published a few videos. But the tools that make it easy weren't around then. So it was more profitable for me to produce written content.
I'm a rather visual person so I can learn better while seeing things in a video than reading it. We all have different learning preferences I believe and it's important to find the one that works best for us.
Yes, I think that the best teaching material has text, and audiovisual versions so that learners can choose their most suitable option.

youtube? only to see some sports highlights and music movies
I am the only one that watches Netflix and TV, Mrs T watches youtube vloggers. We are content consumers. But I am looking at creating AI videos on my mmonline account.
I like the idea of creating video content with AI. It's still a bit complicted to come up with something nice but it's getting better.
It is getting better and easier I think.
I have multiple accounts there. I used to upload videos recently, but after Hive, I'm using only 3spk for that. Also, I regularly check new music; it's one of the sources for my #newtunes post. Lately, I've also been watching podcasts, mainly from Hive. Otherwise, it takes a lot of time. I want to order a Family account, but I can't do so. Slovenia is the only country in Europe where this is not possible. I don't know why.
I never used it for looking at DIY videos, except for some software issues.
I also switched to 3speak but lately it was a bit a nightmare to try to upload stuff to 3speak and I came back to youtube. It's a pitty that there are bugs so often with 3speak.
I've had a youtube account for years, but I'm not a content creator there. I usually only use it when I need to watch something to learn or ask questions, not to mention to watch music videos too.
But at the moment, with chatgpt and grok, my use of youtube has practically decreased a lot.
AI is a new way to learn things and it can definitely subsitute the use of Youtube
I mostly use YouTube to learn from tutorials.
I like to watch tutorials as well. It's easier for me to understand things when watching a video.
I used to create content about Japanese events, gaming, and my food journeys. Work is hitting me so bad so I don't have time to edit my videos anymore 😂. In my leisure time, I usually watch gugafoods, steven he, nigel ng, and music videos. Most food content creators are moving to Instagram.

For me youtube is a place of information. I use it to broaden my knowledge about things that I know little about
It's definitely a great place to find knowledge.
I use YouTube mainly to watch videos and learn new things.
Yes, I have an account, and I enjoy consuming content on a variety of topics.
However, I haven't started creating my own content yet.

I'm a consumer. I have a few subscriptions, but rarely bother to check what they've been publishing unless I find myself with a lot of free time at any point. I also listen to music on YT. Obviously, I may consume YT content when I research something too.
I don't really follow any subscription but mainly go on youtube when I'm looking for something specific.
I no longer keep an account and rarely use it. It's next to impossible to make money by creating material there!
It's difficult indeed to monetize a youtube account.
I have an account... I mostly use it to watch stuff, though more often listen to stuff in the background while working. I don't create anything for it.
Thanks for sharing!
I usually use it to learn something, or for entertainment. I usually consume content only
Thanks for sharing!
I usually use it put something on the side while working. Sometimes its music, other times its about games or news.
You are filling the watch later list I believe ;-)
I use Youtube a lot, that's where I consume content related to football and games ⚽🎮
I also often watch the hightlights of the matches I missed on Youtube.
Do you support a team in Turkey? Or your wife? 😂
I always watch YouTube, usually gaming and technology channels, I always stay up to date with the latest news about programming and engineering there.
Youtube is a treasure trove of knowledge and I think it's a great way to keep up to date.
I have an account! I use it to search for animal videos for my kids… but also DIY videos and recommendations of products that i see online.
For example i learned how to change the bathroom toilet watching a video 😝
That's a perfect use case lol
I don't have a YouTube account, but I am subscribed to several channels.
Most often I watch tutorials on some repairs and disassembly of devices, watch video instructions, sometimes I search for some music or watch some series (or part of a series), until I get tired of commercials.
I will not pay a monthly subscription, because in addition to cable TV, I have Netflix, so the YT subscription would be too much for me.
I don't think that the subscription is really worth the money either. I don't mind some adds :-)
I use YouTube a LOT, both as a content consumer and content creator.
I create content on two different channels, my online biz channel and my games/non-biz channel.
As for content consumption, I mainly watch current affairs, history, crypto, online biz and self development stuff... also chess vids, boardgame rules vids, wargaming vids, oh and some comedy and crazy short vids too 🤣. Blimey, seems like am an addict!
haha, we have a heavy user here. It's nice to see that you generate content as well.
