No, SURGE will go up along with the price of LEO/LSTR. Since 100 SURGE can be converted into 2 LSTR, the price of SURGE should stay roughly equal to whatever 2 LSTR is worth. So, if LEO goes to $2 and the LPS is 50, that means LSTR should trade at $100 at par (with no premium). If 2 LSTR are worth $200, then 100 SURGE should also equal $200 (since it can be converted into 2 LSTR and sold for $200). That means SURGE should trade around $2 per token. If it's trading at $1.50, for example, someone could buy 100 for $150 and then immediately convert it into 2 LSTR and turn around and sell it for $200. Which is why SURGE will trade up in conjunction with LEO and LSTR.

That's because of the HIVE price. $72 of Hive will get you 100 SURGE. 100 SURGE will pay you $15 of interest over a year. 15 divided by 72 = 20.83%.
So, $72 turns into $100 when SURGE sells out and trades at $1. So, you get a 39% gain on the SURGE itself, PLUS the 15% interest. After 1 year, you would have $115 from a $72 investment which equals almost a 60% gain.
Now......if LEO goes up and LSTR goes to...say....$100, then you could convert your SURGE to 2 LSTR and sell it for $200. That means that your $72 turned into $200+$15=$215 (a 3x) for a downside-protected, dividend paying, "safe" investment.

We have left Hive and are going out into the larger crypto space, time to rattle the cages of anyone you know in the space and chat up what LeoDex can do for them.
50 SURGE will trade for whatever 1 LSTR is worth (since that is what it converts into), once LSTR reaches $50. Before that happens, it will trade at $1.
An example, if you have 100 SURGE and LSTR is trading at $100, SURGE will trade at $2, since you could convert 100 SURGE into 2 LSTR and sell those 2 LSTR for $100 each, or $200.
To take it back one more step, if LEO is trading at $3 and the LPS is at 50, that means LSTR should trade for $150 at par (no premium). Since 100 SURGE could convert into 2 LSTR (worth $300), that means SURGE should trade at $3. If it were trading for $2, for example, someone could buy 100 SURGE for $200 and then immediately convert it into 2 LSTR and sell it for $300. Instant profit. Which is why the price of SURGE will move up and track the LSTR price.
Basically divide the LSTR price by 50(since that's how many SURGE it takes to get 1 LSTR) and that should be where SURGE trades. Again, this is after LSTR reaches $50. Before that, SURGE will trade a $1.

SURGE will have an LP seeded with $50k once it sells out so it will obviously have buyers. LSTR has a LEO/LSTR LP right now so there's liquidity there as well. I view that as more of a long-term play anyway. There are only 100k in existence now, but I feel like LeoStrategy will sell another tranche at some point at a much higher number to raise another chunk of money to buy LEO.
