Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team could show up in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie , would be the first real step toward a Nintendo cinematic universe, the first Mario movie already brought in Donkey Kong and went to his world so clearly Illumination is not afraid to mix franchises together, Star Fox makes sense because they are space mercenaries flying around in the Arwing taking on dangerous missions and Mario is going cosmic in this sequel, cameo where Fox and his crew show up to help deal with whatever Bowser and Bowser Jr are doing in space, both Fox and Falco are already in Super Smash Bros so they share a universe with Mario anyway, plus Nintendo is clearly building toward more movies and Star Fox does not have the name recognition of Zelda or Pokemon so giving him a boost with a Mario cameo would be smart before doing his own movie.
