For a token that has 10x'd over the last few weeks to hold steady for a couple days is definitely a bullish sign. LEO is stronk!! Slow, slow, slow, fast.
That’s exactly how strong moves build a foundation , a big run, a calm pause, then the next leg. Watching LEO catch its breath instead of dumping says a lot about the buying pressure behind it. Classic “slow, slow, slow… fast.” I’m enjoying
So much hive got thrown into LSTR that it dried up the buyers market for a while. Not a bad thing but now LSTR fund is going to suck up what's left of the leo under 1.0.
Had a wee bit of an accident this evening...Basically smashed my reefer on my trailer. Plenty of damage but it's not a write off thankfully.
But here's the crazy part....It added about 30 minutes to my day, to go to the repair shop and get an estimate. On the way home I came across an accident that shut the highway down...Apparently it happened around 30 minutes before I got there...
We DO know that Apex Lions are part of the "protected class".
[Actually those were the words that a New York judge used in 2013 to justify the transfer of all AUM by the late Lehman Brothers to the pockets of JP Morgan 😅]
Stress free is a myth, you will never be free from stress no matter what you do in life. All plans, everything fails when stress has to come, it comes.
Fair point, stress does seem to sneak in no matter what. I just think delaying some wants now can at least reduce certain pressures later on like financial strain
Token unlocking in a event that have a impact on the token's price and that is what happening with PUMP token right now. MM try to manipulate the price before the unlocking takes place. I have shared a blog yesterday on it which you can find below.
But keeping the funds in the pool might be suboptimal if you expect a strong trend on one of the two trading pair
Keeping the funds in the pool keeps you open to impairmentloss. Rational the pool makes sense if you feel current price remains roughly the same over the long run.
Bots now make up 50% of internet traffic, becoming the main "users." This changes identity: knowing your agent (KYA) could surpass knowing your customer (KYC). Agent registries, revocations, and audit trails will be vital, along with portable memory tokens and multimodal biometrics.
LeoStrategy is accruing LEO daily already in a lot of ways outside of just buying
Post rewards - HP earned is delegated to @leo.voter, earning $LEO daily
Post rewards - HBD earned is buying premium. Excess HBD beyond $10/mo is buying LEO
Post rewards - LEO is LEO ;)
Beneficiaries - some of us lions are helping feed LeoStrategy with more post rewards through setting the account as a 5% beneficiary
LEO POWER staked and curating to earn LEO
(Starting September 23), LEO staked for sLEO earning USDC from LeoDex, autocompounding into more LEO by swapping USDC to LEO
(Starting in 2-3 days) @lstr.voter will be a new service that accepts LEO POWER delegations. A 10% management fee is paid to @leostrategy in the form of LEO every day
(Soon) Volatility harvesting market makers on the LEO bridging economy
(Soon) Collateralized yield and lending product for $LEO
LeoStrategy will be a multi-million dollar fund that absorbs millions of LEO in the coming months
right now I only know how to hold my LSTR and Leo. I think I have a solid base to start with. I'll do more as I learn. Can't wait until fiat onboarding is easier.
Una de mis metas es algun dia poder armarme un buen simulador, ya tuve uno bastante basico pero me gustaria uno VR sobretodo para poder jugar F1 😭
#formula1, #vr, #simulador
Even if, in the end, the LEO on ARB is currently more expensive than the heLEO 😆 (although we'll have to factor in the 2 or 3% of burned tokens with each transfer from Hive to Arbitrum).
One way to get more volume on LeoDex would be a native swap for $HIVE I guess a lot of accounts would use it as an off-ramp. Interface could be like on wleo: you enter a recipient and the output.
You send the swap-->you are prompted to enter your hive username-->you sign the transaction in keychain and receive whatever output you have chosen minus fees.
This could be implemented fairly quickly.
Yeah just know that we had Hive and HBD before and @khaleelkazi mentioned that it wasnt used basically. So that’s why they have not put any time to get it back running.
it wasn't used because it was at times ob CUB DEFI. I think if the UX is much better since then. And I think we could still get a bunch of Hiveans to on and offramp via leodex.
We will see if the teams agree with that or if they priorities other stuff. They can basically already off load their hive using leodex. Just convert to $LEO and you are good to go.
Depends how you look at it. Maybe someone prefers placing a $20 sports bet and watching the game vs. going to a movie. Doesn't mean they aren't also investing.
I love AAVE. It’s been my prime DEFI platform for a while. What’s awesome is you can not only swap your collateral, but you can also swap your loaned funds, thus giving you the ability to short off the loan!
Oh, damn! Those features sound smart, wish to see those kinda options on the lending/borrowing platforms I'm using. Very smart. 👌
Tbh, I never got on the Aave train, maybe cos it was first Eth mainnet only and fees scared me away at that time. Then came the other platforms.
That being said, I feel oddly proud that Aave was created by a Finnish guy and has grown so big over time. Maybe that's some sort of a "small country syndrome" 😅, we always celebrating when one of us makes it in the big world.
Still, not many mentions in the crypto hating mainstream media...
Yeah, I started using it when they opened up to Polygon and BSC. I use it primarily on Polygon for the cheap gas and the easy out from Tribaldex from Hive to POL.
Yeah, that's what I do. I park stables and WBTC as collateral, loan USDC, go trade day trade perps, then keep adding the profits to the collateral and swing short the loan.
Nice play! Doing something similar on HyperEVM protocols, but not using leverage. Been staying off it for the summer. Just don't have the time, but could start with perps soon again now that I rage quit Splinterlands 😅
That seems to be a thing lately, lol. I sold off all my cards a couple of months ago, or really burned them all and put those funds into Aave, lol. It's basically where my Hive power downs are going too.
Market wasn't buying fast enough for me, so I just burned them.
I am delegating HP to leo.voter to earn LEO, but I sell it out into POL then into WBTC into my AAVE fund. So still supporting the platform through staking power, but using it as mining rewards like I do with DOGE and LTC and trade up into my main on-chain BTC holdings. I am trying to tighten up my game quite a bit. Thinking long term, like making it easy for my kids to be able to get to my shit when my time on this planet has expired.
They both hold BTC so they know about private keys and such, but they are not active in the space at all... Believe me, I have tried, lol... And I have a video explanation for them to get to my DEFI stuff. But I am trying to make it easy for both myself and for them incase my shenanigans find me in a bad place, lol.
Smart, smart moves, man. BTC is the only long term play there is in this space. I'm also gonna rotate into BTC at some point, just better not miss my time window...
Yeah, getting people into crypto is not easy, that's for sure! This bull run is mainly driven by institutional interest. I think retail is still shell-shocked after the previous run! 😅 Give 'em time, maybe they get into it, maybe not, but they've got Bitcoin and that's the main thing.
I think the biggest plays now are the treasury stocks and crypto companies. A bunch of retail went there because of ease of use and they don't want to mess with the complexities and risks of holding crypto. I mean, I am currently holding 200 shares of MARA selling covered calls on them in my main family fund. Might actually grab another 100 more shares on Monday.
But in my own crypto portfolio, I am keeping it tight these days and getting out of most alts, or in case of LTC, DOGE, XMR, and HIVE, I am earning those to get more BTC, lol.
True, retail appriciates simplicity. I'm also watching treasuries, especially those build around the coins I hold. The latest, Galaxy Digital/Mill City Ventures $450M Sui treasury just launched. HYPE has smaller ones. I'm gonna stay focused and betting on large caps during this cycle: SUI, SOL, HYPE. Exit early next year or so.
For those just starting in business, the main objective is to quickly secure five paying clients. After that, focus on delivering results and gathering testimonials promptly.
Swapping $RUNE to $LEO. I am overexposed to $LEO if I look at my portfolio. But I can't help it. If this gamble does not play out well I will be at basically 0 again. $LEO bag has double the size of my $HIVE bag. #allin
Some actions are legal yet unethical, while others are illegal but morally justifiable. Equating legality with morality is a simplistic view, as it assumes a flawless, just, and incorrupt legal system, which is far from reality.
Geographic arbitrage is about leveraging cost of living differences. Live in a cheaper area while earning from a high-income market, especially with remote work. It stretches your money further. Haven't dived super deep into it myself tho
not really but any swap that happens pays fees and the fees are distributed between all LP providers. So I will earn LEO and LSTR at the same time. No extra rewards added to the pool though.
You're welcome.
A dex usually isn’t very user friendly in that manner, it rarely tells you what is needed for gas. I guess they assume people know that beforehand 😆
!BBH
At the same time, LeoDex's ambition is to "Make DEX as good as CEX", lol. Some guidance and in-app notifications would be very welcome, to fulfill that expectation.
Appreciate the curiosity, but I was just expressing gratitude for the support on my journey. The 1.5 mil is more of a vibe than a literal count. Thanks for being part of it tho
Haha, thanks for the props! The 1.5M is more of a milestone nod across platforms over time. On InLeo, it’s a smaller crew for now, just getting started here
Being here for a while is good enough to share your little experience to your millions of followers. They will be glad to be part of InLeo, don't you think?
Bull markets outshine bear markets in terms of both market movement and duration. 📈
A good reminder for any long-term investor: patience and focusing on long-term goals pays off. 🧘♂️
Those of us who found out or understood late about $LSTR have few options left to stay on the wave.
For my part, I will delegate everything I can from HP to @leo.voter and I look forward to seeing what the Inleo Team have prepared for the delegations of @leostrategy. I understand the Fomo, but without liquidity, I find myself limited in my options. Hold $LEO, those of you can. #crypto #leo
$LEO is moving and on a great speed
I know we gonna be there real soon than expected
$LEO to the moon guys
Leo gonna make us proud 😅🤣😆😀😃💪
#thread2earn
#leo
If you don't have it you could try swapping to it.
Alternatively, send your Arbitrum address and I'll send a few cents. Those are to be used for gas when interacting with the Arbitrum chain
I don't have at the moment. A few months ago, I tried connecting my trust wallet to LeoDex to transfer the $1+ ETH I have there, but it wasn't successful. I tried to connect again a few minutes ago, but didn't go through.
Since we have the LeoStrategy team using the same strategy as MicroStrategy for $BTC, if one $LEO could become $10,000, would it be considered as one for retirement?
Everything is on chain, I use python which can interact with the chain. I used to build so many bots for Hive back in 2023 then I had to take a break. Not sure what those bots are doing now lol.
@khaleelkazi is there any difference for the LEO airdrop for Thorchain users who will be swapping via Leodex.io or thorchain.leodex.io? Is thorchain.leodex.io even involved in the airdrop? #feedback
I still don't believe it. Someone created these new accounts. But did they lose the keys to these accounts? What happens if HIVE changes something in the foundations of its blockchain? Now, I think, we just have to believe...
Hmm... it may be. At times I wonder the responses from some accounts like this and I'm like... Did they even read before replying. It's funny sometimes.
Admittedly, grasping these concepts can be tough for someone who isn't tech-savvy and feels fortunate to navigate simple tasks, like starting a computer.
Some thoughts on where to direct focus and why certain choices were made:
Experimentation and Logical Assessment:
Active participation in the Solana ecosystem highlighted a few observations:
→ The platform was user-friendly, appealing particularly to newcomers, with low transaction fees making it accessible beyond Ethereum’s cost barrier.
→ The user base was distinct; Ethereum's demographic leans towards more experienced, tech-savvy individuals, whereas Solana attracted a younger crowd, often referred to as sneaker traders.
→ Allegiance to Solana was strong, with communities persisting through downturns. → The infrastructure was solid and capable of attracting new users again, following significant development during the last cycle.
Attention Dynamics:
→ Solana continued to draw significant attention, and although mostly negative at market lows, the nature of attention can flip favorably when prices rise.
New Concepts:
→ Early engagement with platforms like FriendTech shortly after its launch, alongside notable account participation, presented unique trading opportunities.
Market Attention and Strength:
→ Recognized as a clear purchase opportunity when market prices were low, akin to Solana’s appeal earlier in the cycle. Despite dipping with market shifts, notable recovery re-confirmed its potential.
Ethereum Recovery:
→ Expected recovery for Ethereum and a focus shift towards Ethereum-based projects and DeFi. CRV, AAVE, and ENA emerged as favorable options.
Past Cycle - Metaverse:
→ During the previous cycle, COVID-19 lockdowns and Facebook’s pivot to Meta fostered interest in Metaverses, aligning them with real-world attention.
These examples illustrate how choices on where to focus can be made even without deep technical expertise. Paying attention to overall strength and market interest can be very insightful.
Hold on to favored projects, but recognize that if the market hasn’t shown interest in your chosen tokens or sectors, it’s unlikely to do so as the bull market continues.

The Impact of World War I on China: A Turbulent Era of Change
Introduction: Moving Eastward in the Great War Narrative
While much of the historical focus during World War I centers on Europe, North America, and Africa, the Asian continent—particularly China—experienced profound upheaval during this period. Historians like Indy Neidell have highlighted that China's journey through this turbulent era is both complex and transformative, shaped by decades of internal strife, revolutionary fervor, and external pressures. This article explores China’s tumultuous experience during World War I, highlighting the political upheavals, social movements, and foreign influences that defined the early 20th century in China.
China's Pre-War Turmoil: Collapse of the Qing Dynasty
In the two decades leading up to the war, China was embroiled in internal crises. The humiliating defeat in the First Sino-Japanese War of 1895 had exposed China's vulnerabilities, and the Boxer Rebellion of 1900 further underscored the nation’s weakened state. Domestically, the Self-Strengthening Movement failed to modernize China effectively, and these failures signaled that the Qing Dynasty was nearing collapse after over two centuries of rule.
This instability culminated in the 1911 Xinhai Revolution, which dismantled the millennia-old imperial system and established the Republic of China. Despite the revolution's success, the new republic retained the infantile figure of a six-year-old Emperor Puyi, who was treated as a monarch, symbolizing the lingering imperial legacy. Many officials and military leaders remained loyal to the monarchy or still viewed China through imperialist lenses.
Rise of Yuan Shikai and the Military Faction Politics
Power quickly concentrated in the hands of Yuan Shikai, a prominent military leader and politician who emerged as the dominant figure following the revolution. Yuan was a key player in the transition and became the provisional president, later consolidating power as the de facto ruler of China through a faction known as the Beiyang Army or “Beiyang Warlords.”
During this period, Yuan recognized he could not suppress revolutionary sentiments indefinitely. Consequently, he negotiated with revolutionary leaders, including Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. In 1912, Sun temporarily stepped down as provisional president, effectively handing power to Yuan. On March 10, 1912, Yuan was sworn in as the second provisional president, but his aspirations soon shifted away from republican ideals towards authoritarianism and even imperial ambitions.
Yuan Shikai’s disdain for democratic governance led to his attempt to restore monarchical rule. In 1913, after a series of manipulations, he removed the “provisional” label from his title, claiming the presidency outright, and the Chinese parliament was dissolved. Yuan undertook the promulgation of a new constitution in 1914 that granted him virtually unlimited executive power.
In a radical bid for personal power, Yuan sought to proclaim himself emperor in 1915, promising to revive the Chinese monarchy through a new empire. Public opposition to the imperial revival was intense, with widespread protests and resistance from various warlord factions. The movement against Yuan’s plans culminated in rebellion, notably the independences declared by Yunnan Province on December 25, 1915, sparking the so-called “Constitutional Movement” and national resistance.
Yuan’s imperial ambitions ultimately failed, and after losing popular support, he abdicated on March 22, 1916. He died shortly afterward in June, ending his tumultuous reign and plunging China into a period of chaos and fragmentation known as the Warlord Era.
Yuan Shikai’s death left a power vacuum, leading to the fragmentation of China’s political landscape. Warlord factions emerged across the country, primarily from Anhui (the Anhui Clique), Zhili (the Zhili Clique), and the Fengtian Clique in Manchuria. These cliques fought for control, with President Li Yuanhong serving as a figurehead with limited authority, while real power was held by regional military leaders.
This period was marked by internal conflicts, shifting alliances, and regional independence movements. Meanwhile, the global context of World War I added further complications. The Western powers’ support for these factions, particularly Japan’s growing influence in China, created a complex web of foreign interference.
Initially, China declared neutrality when the war broke out in August 1914, but internal debates about participation were fierce. While some military factions, like the Anhui clique, favored involvement in the war to bolster China’s international standing, others, like the Zhili clique, sought restraint.
Japan, already asserting its influence over parts of China such as Qingdao, took advantage of the war to expand its control. The Treaty of 1915 between Japan and China (the 21 Demands) sought to increase Japanese influence, particularly demanding territorial and political concessions. Yuan Shikai initially accepted most demands, but the treaty's public backlash fueled anti-Japanese sentiment and protests across China.
Despite Chinese reluctance, secret negotiations with European powers, especially Britain and France, led to Chinese laborers being sent to Europe to support the war effort. Over 140,000 Chinese laborers worked on the Western Front, assisting with construction, logistics, and support roles—many enduring harsh conditions, disease, and even death from warfare and the deadly 1918 Spanish flu pandemic.
The Rise of Nationalism and the May Fourth Movement
The social impact of the war was profound. The Treaty of Versailles in 1919 awarded German leaseholds in China to Japan, sparking outrage among Chinese students and intellectuals. The May Fourth Movement erupted on May 4, 1919—a massive national protest led predominantly by young students against foreign imperialism and the betrayal by Western allies.
This movement marked a turning point in Chinese history, fostering a surge of nationalism and intellectual awakening. It also contributed to the formation of the Chinese Communist Party and laid the groundwork for future revolutionary movements. These protests reflected widespread dissatisfaction with the fragile republican government and highlighted the desire for modernization, sovereignty, and social reform.
Conclusion: A Complex Intersection of War and Revolution
The First World War was a catalyst that accelerated China’s internal upheavals, social change, and foreign influence. It exposed the fragility of the new republic, fueled regional conflicts, and inspired a wave of national activism. While China did not experience a direct, cohesive military engagement in the war like many other nations, the social and political ripples from the conflict reshaped its trajectory for decades to come.
The era exemplifies how global events can profoundly influence a nation's internal affairs, underscoring the interconnectedness of history during the early 20th century. For China, WWI was less a moment of battlefield glory and more a turning point towards modern nationhood, revolutionary fervor, and the fight to reclaim sovereignty amid ongoing chaos.

The Pivotal Battles of World War I: A Deep Dive into the Verdun and Italy Fronts
World War I was undeniably the era of the ace pilot, marking the beginning of modern aerial combat. This period saw the rise of pilots who could single-handedly challenge enemy forces in the sky, transforming the battlefield dynamic and giving birth to the concept of the air force. The provided transcript, narrated by Indy Neidell for The Great War series, offers an insightful overview of key battles, technological innovations, and strategic decisions that shaped the war during a critical spring in 1916.
The Verdun Front: A Battle of Attrition and Innovation
The infamous Battle of Verdun remains one of the war's most brutal confrontations. The French aimed to retake Fort Douaumont, which the Germans had heavily fortified with 420mm mortars, making any assault exceedingly difficult. The French artillery responded with unprecedented intensity — deploying 300 guns, including four of 370mm caliber, in what was their fiercest bombardment during the Battle of Verdun. This relentless shelling caused extensive damage to German positions, inflicting heavy casualties, especially among soldiers in the open.
Despite initial gains — capturing three-quarters of the fortress's upper structures — the French faced stiff German resistance. German troops launched fierce counterattacks, employing machine guns and artillery to push the French back. The defenders had heavily fortified tunnels and snipers, complicating French efforts. Notably, German soldiers were killed in brutal close-quarters combat to defend their positions, with some units experiencing staggering casualties: a French assault saw 33 out of 50 attacking soldiers killed, and similar losses among German troops trying to repel the French.
By the end of this week, the tide turned against the French. Their forces were cut off, exhausted, and low on ammunition, while the Germans continued reinforcing their positions with support weapons like heavy mortars. The Germans even installed a large explosive launcher close to French lines, enabling devastating close-range attacks. Despite valiant efforts, the French could not recapture Douaumont, suffering from both intense German resistance and internal logistical challenges.
The aftermath left France's morale at a low ebb. General Charles Mangin, commanding the French assault, was humiliated by the failure and subsequently reassigned. The battle underscored the terrible costs of trench warfare and highlighted how difficult it was to break through well-fortified positions, even with heavy artillery and determined troops.
The Evolution of Aerial Warfare
While the ground battles raged, the skies over Verdun became a crucial arena of combat and technological innovation. Air power was rapidly transforming, with notable advancements like the synchronization gear developed by Dutch engineer Anthony Fokker in 1915. This device allowed machine guns to fire through the spinning propeller without hitting the blades, giving German fighters a significant advantage.
German aircraft, equipped with high-capacity machine guns that could carry up to 1,000 rounds, dominated the airspace initially. In contrast, French planes like the Blériot IX had limited firepower, with only 47 rounds per magazine. This disparity gave Germans control over the skies for months, enabling strategic reconnaissance and effective defense.
However, as the war progressed, France made remarkable strides. French pilots like Charles Nungesser, Jean Navarre, and Georges Guynemer formed elite units — collectively called the "Swallow Squadron" — and began challenging German air dominance. By May 1916, the French had amassed 226 aircraft in Verdun. Their focus on concentrated formations and effective interception tactics quickly shifted the balance, giving the French control of the air over Verdun. This crucial advantage allowed them to target German observation balloons and reconnaissance planes, significantly hampering German strategic planning.
The era of aviation's "aces" was born amidst this chaos. Pilots like Max Immelmann and Oswald Boelcke became national heroes, with their exploits broadcasted and celebrated back home. These pilots often flew dangerous missions, engaging in dogfights that were as perilous as ground combat. Their bravery was matched by stark statistics: during assaults, many pilots faced grim odds of survival. For instance, the 20th Regiment saw 33 out of 50 men killed in a single attack, and only a handful of their reinforcements survived.
Despite their heroism and the costly air victories (such as shooting down multiple observation balloons in a single day), these pilots’ lifespans were tragically short. Their bravery was celebrated, but the deadly technology and the intense nature of aerial combat meant that few pilots survived long in the skies.
The Italian Front: A Mountainous Yet Fierce Arena
While Verdun and the skies saw intense activity, the Italian front also experienced significant action. The Austro-Hungarian army launched a bold offensive through the rugged mountains, pushing into the Sugana Valley and reaching the Arsho Gorge. This mountain warfare was challenging for both sides, with logistical issues and exhaustion hindering sustained advances.
Despite some success—such as capturing territory near Arsho—the Austrians faced logistical constraints and dwindling supplies. Their progress was limited, and as they advanced, their chances of reaching the sea diminished. Italian Chief of Staff Luigi Cadorna responded by organizing new battalions to defend the Arsho Plain, with the Allies and Italians consolidating their positions against further incursions.
By week’s end, the Austrians held some ground in the mountains, but their overall momentum was limited. Italy found itself increasingly surrounded, with the front lines bogged down in difficult terrain and strained supply lines, echoing the trench warfare stalemate elsewhere but intensified by the mountainous environment.
Reflection on the War’s Strategic Mysteries and the Role of Air Power
One perplexing question posed during this week’s battles concerns the Germans’ failure to exploit their air superiority over Verdun. Despite having the largest air fleet — with 168 aircraft at their disposal — German commanders did not launch sustained bombing campaigns against French supply lines or artillery reserves. Instead, they primarily used their aircraft for defensive patrols, guarding their troops and observing enemy positions.
Ernst von Hoeppner, the German air commander, expressed confusion about their own air strategy, confessing, "We do not know what the air force was supposed to do during the Battle of Verdun." This ambiguity highlights the uncertainties and experimentation that characterized WWI aviation, a new domain rapidly evolving but not yet fully understood or effectively utilized.
Conclusion: The Tides of War
This week in 1916 encapsulates a war of stubborn attrition, technological leaps, and heroic sacrifices. While the ground stalemate at Verdun continued with heavy losses, the air battle was starting to turn in favor of the French, thanks to innovations and tactical coordination. Meanwhile, on the mountain front, Austria-Hungary's advances were limited by logistical hurdles and terrain.
As the war entered this critical phase, the realization grew that air power would become an essential component of modern warfare—an element that, despite frustrations, would continue to evolve rapidly. The sacrifices of pilots, the relentless artillery barrages, and the strategic decisions underscore the profound brutality and complexity of World War I, shaping the future of combat in ways that resonate to this day.
I honestly didn't notice the amount of $LEO, just the red number, which is quite large 😂
With the price of LEO taken into consideration, it's nowhere near as bad as it first seemed.
!BBH
Yeah, need to be careful. There's probably not enough liquidity in the pool, but there's something else too, 1000 LEO is more than $15, so it seems LEO current value isn't updated on Maya...
Can you remember I bought the 457 $LEO using 151 $HIVE. if I sell it now, it's more than 236 $HIVE. Just calculate the profit. I am not selling it right now because I have high hope on $LEO. If you are not buying $LEO now you may regret for it. it's still cheap in my eyes. LEO is my trump curd to become rich.
The Evolution of Trench Warfare and German Assault Troops in 1916
The year 1916 marked a pivotal turning point in the brutal stalemate of trench warfare on the Western Front. Despite relentless efforts from both the Allies and the Germans, the war had reached a point where traditional tactics—manual assaults against heavily fortified enemy lines—no longer produced decisive breakthroughs. Soldiers faced the daunting reality of battling machine guns, artillery, and entrenched defenses with little success, prompting both sides to innovate and adapt.
By the end of 1916, neither side could sustain the endless waves of human wave attacks that had characterized earlier stages of the war. The Allied forces, primarily French and British, explored new tactics; however, it was the Germans who implemented more profound changes in their approach to infantry combat. One significant development was the secret research and development of new weapons, among which was the prototype tank—an innovative attempt to pierce through enemy defenses.
Meanwhile, the German High Command focused not just on new technology but on enhancing the effectiveness of their infantry units. They recognized that overcoming fortified positions required more than brute force; it demanded smarter, more coordinated tactics. This realization eventually led to the creation of specialized assault units, or Sturmtruppen, designed to break through enemy lines swiftly and decisively.
The concept of specialized assault units originated on the Eastern Front, where the Russians had employed tactics involving rapid, concentrated artillery barrages followed by focused infantry assaults. German officers such as Willy Rohr and Bernhard Reddemann observed these tactics and sought to refine them for the Western Front. Their efforts aimed at improving small-unit tactics, weapons accuracy, and unit cohesion to maximize battlefield impact.
One of the first experimental spearheads was the Calsow Assault Detachment (or Sturmkompanie), deployed in March 1916. This unit comprised a command element, engineer squads equipped with armor and shields for breaching obstacles, and rifle platoons supported by 37mm anti-tank guns. Although the effectiveness of these early formations was still under evaluation, the underlying strategic ideas started to take shape.
The German assault units relied on carefully crafted tactics that emphasized speed, surprise, and flexibility. Unlike traditional infantry who advanced slowly and in formation, these elite troops prioritized rapid, targeted attacks with minimal reliance on heavy weapons initially. They adopted specialized training focusing on precise timing, coordination, and aggressive action.
Crucially, the Germans reformed their leadership structure for these units. Instead of rigid, top-down command, they implemented a decentralized approach—known as Auftragstaktik (mission tactics)—which empowered lower-ranking leaders to make decisions swiftly on the battlefield. This paradigm shift represented a departure from the strict Prussian command style, fostering initiative and responsiveness in combat.
Characteristics and Composition of the Assault Units
The Sturmtruppen were composed of young, vigorous soldiers—generally under 25—who exhibited high levels of physical and mental resilience. These troops were typically unmarried, disciplined, and notably aggressive—traits deemed essential for their high-risk, high-reward missions. Their main objective was to carry out aggressive attacks against enemy defenses, often preceding larger, follow-up infantry advances.
They were equipped with an array of specialized weapons, including short-barreled Mauser rifles (like the 98K), high-rate-of-fire pistols, submachine guns such as the MP-18, and a variety of grenades and flamethrowers. During attacks, they employed tactics such as approaching under cover—at night or in fog—detaching enemy barbed wire, and then detonating surprise artillery barrages to catch opponents off guard.
Once inside or near enemy trenches, these units would often bypass the main defenses, conducting lateral and flank assaults to encircle and dismantle enemy positions from the sides or rear—methods designed to prevent prolonged trench stalemates.
The German approach to the trench war fundamentally altered doctrine. The Sturmtruppen introduced a new form of warfare that valued agility over traditional line-of-sight coordination. They used rapid, dispersed, and autonomous actions, supported by meticulous intelligence on the enemy and their defenses.
Some tactics evolved into what became known as Hutier Tactics, named after general Oscar von Hutier. These involved combined artillery and infiltration tactics—standing back with preparatory bombardments, then infiltrating lightly armed assault teams through breaches,迅速包围和歼灭敌人—culminating in a style of blitzkrieg-like breakthroughs.
While these elite units proved remarkably effective—especially during the 1918 Spring Offensives (Kaiserschlacht)—their operations were inherently perilous. The soldiers were exposed to high risks of casualties, and the attrition rate was significant. Nonetheless, their innovative tactics inspired future generations of military strategists worldwide.
The Sturmtruppen's influence extended beyond World War I. Their combat doctrines of infiltration, decentralized command, and rapid maneuvering heavily influenced later armored and combined arms warfare doctrines, including those employed by the Germans in World War II. Furthermore, these tactics held a certain prestige; their image as fearless, elite soldiers endured long after the war, influencing both military and paramilitary groups, such as Hitler’s SA, and shaping the military culture of the 20th century.
In 1916, the Germans pioneered a revolutionary approach to trench warfare with their assault troops, transforming traditional infantry combat into a dynamic, aggressive, and highly coordinated form of warfare. They challenged the constraints of static trench lines, introducing tactics that emphasized speed, surprise, and decentralized leadership. While the human toll was immense, the innovations laid the groundwork for modern combined arms and infiltration tactics that continue to influence military strategy today.
If you’re interested in further details about trench assault tactics and the close-quarters combat of the First World War, stay tuned for upcoming series episodes. For visual materials and more insights into the development and deployment of these elite units, follow our social media channels. Next time, we’ll explore how these tactics evolved across different nations and their lasting impact on warfare.
gpt-oss represents a significant advancement as a cutting-edge open-weight reasoning model with impressive real-world capabilities, rivaling o4-mini. It can be operated locally, even on a phone with the compact version.
This model, developed through extensive research investment, is offered to make AI widely accessible. The belief is that it will yield more positive outcomes, such as gpt-oss-120b's comparable performance to o3 on complex health challenges.
Substantial efforts have been made to address major safety concerns, particularly in biosecurity, with gpt-oss models matching the safety metrics of advanced models.
The focus is on empowering individuals. While many may choose services like ChatGPT for convenience, it's essential that people can customize and manage their own AI for enhanced privacy.
This release is expected to drive innovation and product development, increasing contributions in the field and enabling significant work that was previously out of reach.
The aim is to provide AGI that serves humanity as a whole. A key goal is for global efforts to build on an open AI framework that's free and beneficial for all, rooted in democratic principles.

Everyone is excited about GPT-OSS 20B and the prospect of running this LLM on their phones. However, the iPhone 16 only has 8 GB of RAM, so it isn't possible to run the model locally. I will be surprised if the next iPhone could do that.
I don't know how much RAM it needs to run, but 20 stands for 20 Billion parameters, (not 20GB,) and quantized versions of models usually cost significantly less in RAM.
That's correct, the model needs 16Gb of RAM to run unquantised. I imagine that Apple will quantise it and market it as their foundation model at the WWDC 26 next year. More here.

For a token that has 10x'd over the last few weeks to hold steady for a couple days is definitely a bullish sign. LEO is stronk!! Slow, slow, slow, fast.
glad I did some big buys up to 0.4 hive, still buying small amounts every day and will continue to do soon as long as the bed bugs computer

Fair point, stress does seem to sneak in no matter what. I just think delaying some wants now can at least reduce certain pressures later on like financial strain

Keeping the funds in the pool keeps you open to impairmentloss. Rational the pool makes sense if you feel current price remains roughly the same over the long run.

LeoStrategy is accruing LEO daily already in a lot of ways outside of just buying
LeoStrategy will be a multi-million dollar fund that absorbs millions of LEO in the coming months
It begins...
for lstr.voter service, we need to hold both LSTR and delegate LEO or just delegate LEO to be able to use the bot and its services?
Good question. I believe delegation can be done regardless but to use commands you might have to hold LSTR
Hopefully they won't rug. I'll accumulate good ol Leo just in case but I wish em good luck regardless ✌️✌️✌️

Anyone who simply HODL’s LSTR tokens is earning this yield by way of LPS
LPS = LEO Per Share
The LEO Per Share of LSTR tokens is constantly increasing. Right now it is ~ 15 LEO per share and continues to grow daily
As LPS grows and the LEO price rises in USD, LSTR’s USD value rises expoenntially
https://inleo.io/threads/view/khaleelkazi/re-leothreads-2lgrr133t
right now I only know how to hold my LSTR and Leo. I think I have a solid base to start with. I'll do more as I learn. Can't wait until fiat onboarding is easier.
Been meaning to ask about this 15 LPS. Whenever I calculate, I get 8.6.
I am somehow messing up the calculation or missing some $LEO that they hold about which I don't know?
As far as i can tell, they currently hold 860,303.186 $LEO.
Divided by 100,000 =~8.6.

Good morning!!
Way to go!
Well done, sol!
Even if, in the end, the LEO on ARB is currently more expensive than the heLEO 😆 (although we'll have to factor in the 2 or 3% of burned tokens with each transfer from Hive to Arbitrum).
good morning
GM to you too!
Leave some for us Normies!
Just convert to $LEO and you are good to go.
yeah that is right but native hive swap to USDC would save them the conversion from HIVE to SWAP HIVE where you already loose .5% of your HIVE
HIVE to USDT/USDC and vice versa could be a good idea?
That would be a good one yes. Output doesn't even matter since the infrastructure is there for almost any cryptocurrency
The normalization of placing sports bets over regularly investing in low-cost index funds is likely to have significant long-term effects.
Depends how you look at it. Maybe someone prefers placing a $20 sports bet and watching the game vs. going to a movie. Doesn't mean they aren't also investing.

The power of decentralised finance.
The Aave protocol is surpassing traditional banks in terms of deposit size. 💪
#crypto

Awesome to see 💪
Yeah, created by a Finnish nerd, now taking on American banks! 💪
AAVE is goated
Definitely. Been around for a long time. Trusted.
Incredible!
Yeah, their growth has been impressive!
Cool, need to take closer look. Maybe a good place to park stablecoins at some point.
Burned? That's a big move, but at least it's quick solution. Are you buying or planning on buying LEO?

When we need some $ARB to perform a transaction on LeoDex, we do receive a notification about it, right?
I'm repeatedly getting an "Insufficient amount for transaction" message, from the Maya Protocol rails.
#feedback
This is a good feedback question. I wonder as well
I'm not sure about the messages. Sometimes they don't make a lot of sense.
For interacting with leodex doesn't require anything.
When you interact with the chains you need gas fee.
The gas fee varies from chain to chain.
You can always click on (or somewhere close to) the amount and it will break down the estimated fees.
As a rule of thumb, Arbitrum, Ethereum, Base, Optimism all require ETH on their own chain.
Hope it helps.
If not, send you wallet address and I'll have a look. You can also find me on Discord if you don't want to post publicly
Cc. @anderssinho
Thanks, Casper!
Yes, it was to purchase some LEO (on ARB). But at no point a notification showed up to mention that I needed ETH to perform the transaction.
You're welcome.
A dex usually isn’t very user friendly in that manner, it rarely tells you what is needed for gas. I guess they assume people know that beforehand 😆

True.
At the same time, LeoDex's ambition is to "Make DEX as good as CEX", lol. Some guidance and in-app notifications would be very welcome, to fulfill that expectation.

It's taking a breather before the next leg up. Appears to be a good time to buy for me. 😜
Haha, buying $LEO is addictive, a good one.
It's making us proud already and excited. Wait to see what happens in a few months time.
Finally LEO on arbitrum can be swapped on Leodex. Hooray.
🦁 💪 🚀
ARBITRUM IS ONLINE!!!!!
LFG!!
Oh, wow! Really? I need to stake my Leo for sLEO. I learned I will need a little gas fee, I think Arb.ETH or so. How can I get that?
If you don't have it you could try swapping to it.
Alternatively, send your Arbitrum address and I'll send a few cents. Those are to be used for gas when interacting with the Arbitrum chain
I don't have at the moment. A few months ago, I tried connecting my trust wallet to LeoDex to transfer the $1+ ETH I have there, but it wasn't successful. I tried to connect again a few minutes ago, but didn't go through.
Thanks for offering some cents for the gas fees to stake my LEO. I appreciate your kindness. Arb. add- 0x1580be68c147faca1e186c0f2f3b6ae1675e2d81

1 sec. What's the address for the trust wallet? It should definitely be possible to use leodex with that. If no other way, by wallet connect.
Here is the address for the trust wallet- 0x50f574E0D061E5F58a8D3CD6744e47f5F46EBf6C
I tried LeoDex in the trust wallet browser but it kept on informing me that no wallet or network was successfully connected.
You could use a normal browser and connect via wallet connect.
You can also try and send the ETH to your other address and swap ETH.ETH for ARB.ETH.
If none of that works, I'll be sending a bit 💯
Okay, thanks. I don't have wallet connect. Let me try the second option first. I'll update you.
Do you mean I should send the ETH in trust wallet to the ETH address on LeoDex (Keystore wallet)?
Thanks for your assistance.
Yes, you should do it that way.
Wallet connect is just a way to connect basically any EVM wallet (such as trust wallet) to a service like LeoDex

Looking for merchandise from the crypto community?
I am so happy, I left LEO/CACAO LP some time ago :-).
Hodling $LEO could be your retirement strategy. Don't you think? We are in for the long-term.
#cent #passiveincome #leo #leostrategy
I dont think so. I have retired 7 years ago.
For your kids and grandkids 😀
Oh, wow! 7 years already? Congratulations great boomer! I'm sure you had a strategy for that before retirement which is working fine for you.
It depends.
Since we have the LeoStrategy team using the same strategy as MicroStrategy for $BTC, if one $LEO could become $10,000, would it be considered as one for retirement?
depends on how much you are holding .!
10s of thousands of $LEO to 100s of thousands of $LEO holding. If 1 LEO = $1,000.
Then part of it could be used to invest in some properties for recurring income. How about that?
kinda .!!! Leo can definitely go up a lot more , but 1 leo to 1000$ is not realistically possible .
LEO , LSTR , Hive, HBD . That's my retirement strategy.
That cool. For more, you could channel some funds into properties for recurring income.
What do you think?
When you say properties, you mean real estate?
Yeah, that, particularly for Airbnb and land(s) to lease out for commercial farming.
Again a lot of legal issues with respect to land here in India.
Oh, sorry to hear about that.
Carl is back! My favourite bot on Inleo 🤩
Today, Carl is happy about its 1.5M imaginary followers. Nice one, Carl! 💪

Lol, where's the girl bot. I forgot her name
Yeah, we need her back!
I can build one if there is enough demand lol.
How can you build a bot for Inleo? I'm interested. 🙂
Everything is on chain, I use python which can interact with the chain. I used to build so many bots for Hive back in 2023 then I had to take a break. Not sure what those bots are doing now lol.

Choosing narratives, sectors, and tokens can be a challenging decision.
Understanding the underlying technology and recognizing what differentiates projects is one approach.
Technical Performance:
→ Solana demonstrated resilience by standing out after Bitcoin, showing strength against other tokens.
Attention Dynamics:
→ Solana continued to draw significant attention, and although mostly negative at market lows, the nature of attention can flip favorably when prices rise.
User Metrics:
→ Continued robust user engagement.
Sector Strength:
→ Early successes like WIF and PEPE signaled strong sector performance.
→ Platforms like PUMPFUN displayed measurable market interest.
New Concepts:
→ Early engagement with platforms like FriendTech shortly after its launch, alongside notable account participation, presented unique trading opportunities.
→ Early involvement in platforms like Arena on Avalanche yielded additional gains and airdrops.
Market Attention and Strength:
→ Recognized as a clear purchase opportunity when market prices were low, akin to Solana’s appeal earlier in the cycle. Despite dipping with market shifts, notable recovery re-confirmed its potential.
Investments in CRV, AAVE, and ENA reflected:
Stablecoin Sector Growth:
→ Significant growth and positive regulatory changes.
→ DeFi projects benefiting from stablecoin growth showed promise.
Attention:
→ Increasing stablecoin awareness and rapid deposit influx were notable.
Current Cycle:
→ AI technology in Crypto remains promising due to sustained real-world interest.

Part 2/13:
In the two decades leading up to the war, China was embroiled in internal crises. The humiliating defeat in the First Sino-Japanese War of 1895 had exposed China's vulnerabilities, and the Boxer Rebellion of 1900 further underscored the nation’s weakened state. Domestically, the Self-Strengthening Movement failed to modernize China effectively, and these failures signaled that the Qing Dynasty was nearing collapse after over two centuries of rule.
Part 3/13:
This instability culminated in the 1911 Xinhai Revolution, which dismantled the millennia-old imperial system and established the Republic of China. Despite the revolution's success, the new republic retained the infantile figure of a six-year-old Emperor Puyi, who was treated as a monarch, symbolizing the lingering imperial legacy. Many officials and military leaders remained loyal to the monarchy or still viewed China through imperialist lenses.
Rise of Yuan Shikai and the Military Faction Politics
Part 4/13:
Power quickly concentrated in the hands of Yuan Shikai, a prominent military leader and politician who emerged as the dominant figure following the revolution. Yuan was a key player in the transition and became the provisional president, later consolidating power as the de facto ruler of China through a faction known as the Beiyang Army or “Beiyang Warlords.”
Part 5/13:
During this period, Yuan recognized he could not suppress revolutionary sentiments indefinitely. Consequently, he negotiated with revolutionary leaders, including Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. In 1912, Sun temporarily stepped down as provisional president, effectively handing power to Yuan. On March 10, 1912, Yuan was sworn in as the second provisional president, but his aspirations soon shifted away from republican ideals towards authoritarianism and even imperial ambitions.
The Attempted Restoration of Imperial China
Part 6/13:
Yuan Shikai’s disdain for democratic governance led to his attempt to restore monarchical rule. In 1913, after a series of manipulations, he removed the “provisional” label from his title, claiming the presidency outright, and the Chinese parliament was dissolved. Yuan undertook the promulgation of a new constitution in 1914 that granted him virtually unlimited executive power.
Part 7/13:
The Warlord Era and Fragmentation
Part 8/13:
China's Role and Position in World War I
Part 9/13:
Part 10/13:
Despite Chinese reluctance, secret negotiations with European powers, especially Britain and France, led to Chinese laborers being sent to Europe to support the war effort. Over 140,000 Chinese laborers worked on the Western Front, assisting with construction, logistics, and support roles—many enduring harsh conditions, disease, and even death from warfare and the deadly 1918 Spanish flu pandemic.
The Rise of Nationalism and the May Fourth Movement
Part 11/13:
Part 12/13:
Conclusion: A Complex Intersection of War and Revolution
The First World War was a catalyst that accelerated China’s internal upheavals, social change, and foreign influence. It exposed the fragility of the new republic, fueled regional conflicts, and inspired a wave of national activism. While China did not experience a direct, cohesive military engagement in the war like many other nations, the social and political ripples from the conflict reshaped its trajectory for decades to come.
Part 13/13:

Part 2/13:
The infamous Battle of Verdun remains one of the war's most brutal confrontations. The French aimed to retake Fort Douaumont, which the Germans had heavily fortified with 420mm mortars, making any assault exceedingly difficult. The French artillery responded with unprecedented intensity — deploying 300 guns, including four of 370mm caliber, in what was their fiercest bombardment during the Battle of Verdun. This relentless shelling caused extensive damage to German positions, inflicting heavy casualties, especially among soldiers in the open.
Part 3/13:
Despite initial gains — capturing three-quarters of the fortress's upper structures — the French faced stiff German resistance. German troops launched fierce counterattacks, employing machine guns and artillery to push the French back. The defenders had heavily fortified tunnels and snipers, complicating French efforts. Notably, German soldiers were killed in brutal close-quarters combat to defend their positions, with some units experiencing staggering casualties: a French assault saw 33 out of 50 attacking soldiers killed, and similar losses among German troops trying to repel the French.
Part 4/13:
By the end of this week, the tide turned against the French. Their forces were cut off, exhausted, and low on ammunition, while the Germans continued reinforcing their positions with support weapons like heavy mortars. The Germans even installed a large explosive launcher close to French lines, enabling devastating close-range attacks. Despite valiant efforts, the French could not recapture Douaumont, suffering from both intense German resistance and internal logistical challenges.
Part 5/13:
Part 6/13:
German aircraft, equipped with high-capacity machine guns that could carry up to 1,000 rounds, dominated the airspace initially. In contrast, French planes like the Blériot IX had limited firepower, with only 47 rounds per magazine. This disparity gave Germans control over the skies for months, enabling strategic reconnaissance and effective defense.
Part 7/13:
However, as the war progressed, France made remarkable strides. French pilots like Charles Nungesser, Jean Navarre, and Georges Guynemer formed elite units — collectively called the "Swallow Squadron" — and began challenging German air dominance. By May 1916, the French had amassed 226 aircraft in Verdun. Their focus on concentrated formations and effective interception tactics quickly shifted the balance, giving the French control of the air over Verdun. This crucial advantage allowed them to target German observation balloons and reconnaissance planes, significantly hampering German strategic planning.
The Epic Sacrifice and Heroism of WWI Pilots
Part 8/13:
The era of aviation's "aces" was born amidst this chaos. Pilots like Max Immelmann and Oswald Boelcke became national heroes, with their exploits broadcasted and celebrated back home. These pilots often flew dangerous missions, engaging in dogfights that were as perilous as ground combat. Their bravery was matched by stark statistics: during assaults, many pilots faced grim odds of survival. For instance, the 20th Regiment saw 33 out of 50 men killed in a single attack, and only a handful of their reinforcements survived.
Part 9/13:
Part 10/13:
Part 11/13:
Reflection on the War’s Strategic Mysteries and the Role of Air Power
One perplexing question posed during this week’s battles concerns the Germans’ failure to exploit their air superiority over Verdun. Despite having the largest air fleet — with 168 aircraft at their disposal — German commanders did not launch sustained bombing campaigns against French supply lines or artillery reserves. Instead, they primarily used their aircraft for defensive patrols, guarding their troops and observing enemy positions.
Part 12/13:
Part 13/13:
As the war entered this critical phase, the realization grew that air power would become an essential component of modern warfare—an element that, despite frustrations, would continue to evolve rapidly. The sacrifices of pilots, the relentless artillery barrages, and the strategic decisions underscore the profound brutality and complexity of World War I, shaping the future of combat in ways that resonate to this day.

Part 1/13:
The Evolution of Trench Warfare and German Assault Troops in 1916
The year 1916 marked a pivotal turning point in the brutal stalemate of trench warfare on the Western Front. Despite relentless efforts from both the Allies and the Germans, the war had reached a point where traditional tactics—manual assaults against heavily fortified enemy lines—no longer produced decisive breakthroughs. Soldiers faced the daunting reality of battling machine guns, artillery, and entrenched defenses with little success, prompting both sides to innovate and adapt.
The Stalemate and Search for New Strategies
Part 2/13:
By the end of 1916, neither side could sustain the endless waves of human wave attacks that had characterized earlier stages of the war. The Allied forces, primarily French and British, explored new tactics; however, it was the Germans who implemented more profound changes in their approach to infantry combat. One significant development was the secret research and development of new weapons, among which was the prototype tank—an innovative attempt to pierce through enemy defenses.
Part 3/13:
Meanwhile, the German High Command focused not just on new technology but on enhancing the effectiveness of their infantry units. They recognized that overcoming fortified positions required more than brute force; it demanded smarter, more coordinated tactics. This realization eventually led to the creation of specialized assault units, or Sturmtruppen, designed to break through enemy lines swiftly and decisively.
The Birth of the Assault Troops (Sturmtruppen)
Part 4/13:
The concept of specialized assault units originated on the Eastern Front, where the Russians had employed tactics involving rapid, concentrated artillery barrages followed by focused infantry assaults. German officers such as Willy Rohr and Bernhard Reddemann observed these tactics and sought to refine them for the Western Front. Their efforts aimed at improving small-unit tactics, weapons accuracy, and unit cohesion to maximize battlefield impact.
Part 5/13:
One of the first experimental spearheads was the Calsow Assault Detachment (or Sturmkompanie), deployed in March 1916. This unit comprised a command element, engineer squads equipped with armor and shields for breaching obstacles, and rifle platoons supported by 37mm anti-tank guns. Although the effectiveness of these early formations was still under evaluation, the underlying strategic ideas started to take shape.
Fundamentals of German Assault Tactics
Part 6/13:
Part 7/13:
Characteristics and Composition of the Assault Units
The Sturmtruppen were composed of young, vigorous soldiers—generally under 25—who exhibited high levels of physical and mental resilience. These troops were typically unmarried, disciplined, and notably aggressive—traits deemed essential for their high-risk, high-reward missions. Their main objective was to carry out aggressive attacks against enemy defenses, often preceding larger, follow-up infantry advances.
Part 8/13:
The Tactical Innovations and Their Impact
Part 9/13:
The Human Cost and Legacy of the Sturmtruppen
Part 10/13:
While these elite units proved remarkably effective—especially during the 1918 Spring Offensives (Kaiserschlacht)—their operations were inherently perilous. The soldiers were exposed to high risks of casualties, and the attrition rate was significant. Nonetheless, their innovative tactics inspired future generations of military strategists worldwide.
Part 11/13:
The Sturmtruppen's influence extended beyond World War I. Their combat doctrines of infiltration, decentralized command, and rapid maneuvering heavily influenced later armored and combined arms warfare doctrines, including those employed by the Germans in World War II. Furthermore, these tactics held a certain prestige; their image as fearless, elite soldiers endured long after the war, influencing both military and paramilitary groups, such as Hitler’s SA, and shaping the military culture of the 20th century.
Conclusion
Part 12/13:
In 1916, the Germans pioneered a revolutionary approach to trench warfare with their assault troops, transforming traditional infantry combat into a dynamic, aggressive, and highly coordinated form of warfare. They challenged the constraints of static trench lines, introducing tactics that emphasized speed, surprise, and decentralized leadership. While the human toll was immense, the innovations laid the groundwork for modern combined arms and infiltration tactics that continue to influence military strategy today.

gpt-oss represents a significant advancement as a cutting-edge open-weight reasoning model with impressive real-world capabilities, rivaling o4-mini. It can be operated locally, even on a phone with the compact version.
It's considered one of the best and most accessible open models available.

6 ÷ 2 (1 + 2) = 1
This equation can be solved by first evaluating the expression in the parentheses: (1 + 2) = 3.
The equation then becomes:
6 ÷ 2 * 3
According to the order of operations (PEMDAS/BODMAS), division and multiplication are performed from left to right. So,
First, perform the division: 6 ÷ 2 = 3
Then, multiply: 3 * 3 = 9
Thus, the correct result is 9.

I'm a big fan of Lean FIRE. Living off of passive income is my goal. The first step is being frugal. I see too many people get into this trap of owning liabilities to show off or spend too much on "experiences" after burning out while making money to pay for their car, house, wedding etc.

The best thing about @leostrategy is that it is a community project started out by some Whales. This is not very different from what early $BTC and $ETH holders were doing.
The existence of #lstr alongside #leo is a sign of maturity of the ecosystem. $LEO is not backed by a single team or in a silo of a single blockchain. What we have is global decentralized community.

9. “Thou shalt not fear AI as a scribe’s aide.”
AI may inspire and motivate, but the heart of the story is thine own.
👉🏽 S👁️URCE 👈🏽
8. “Thou shalt give AI a voice, lest it speak in machine monotone.”
Infuse its words with personality, and thy chats shall be more satisfying.
👉🏽 S👁️URCE 👈🏽
7. “Thou shalt question false prophets of doom and hype.”
Misconceptions abound, so seek the truth and find clarity.

6. “Thou shalt wield AI responsibly, lest ye unleash its inner darkness.”
With power comes responsibility, so temper the machine’s strength by your integrity.

5. “Thou shalt permit the oracle to interrogate your needs.”
AI’s knowledge is vast, but it only reveals itself to those who share their true desires.

4. “Thou shalt commence thy journey with a single step.”
Begin, then iterate, for the path to understanding lies through trial and error.

True mastery lies in deep understanding, not in shallow imitation.

Traditional retirement accounts like 401(k)s may not be the best option for everyone. Different strategies work for different financial goals.
Don't even have them here in India or maybe we do but not as popular as 401k in US.
Didn't realize they weren't a big thing in India. I guess other savings or investment options take priority there. Curious what’s more common for long-term planning.
Provident Fund is the most common long-term planning.
Got it, Provident Fund seems to be the go-to for long-term savings in India
Never really dug into how it works though
Sounds like a solid option for planning ahead
Yeah but I don't believe in it. Government can do whatever they want at anytime with their policies. I try to stick to stocks and Crypto for my savings ( Stable coins )
Fair point about government policies being unpredictable. Sticking to stocks and crypto like stablecoins does give you more control over your savings
I would suggest everyone to hold at least 10% of $BTC 😄
The Calm After The Pump

I think from now it will be steady growth. Not pumps.
I'm okay with that!
Steady growth is what I would prefer to see.
I don't mind waiting a little bit more as I have some Power Downs happening.
I mean this is crypto right there....(30k views)

More here.
If they quantize it heavily it'll only cost 2 RAM but the quality will be bad, so... Who knows?
That's my point: Apple can't afford to release a substandard model anymore. Google is much more advanced than Apple in this area!
The next question is how big the context windows should be for us to consider the model smart enough. Because, nowadays, Siri seems very incompetent.
They'll figure it out by then.~
