hive has had a lot of great attempts at things but no one really took into account how long it would take for crypto to take off and what to do in bear markets, nor did they have the funding or planning to build capable teams.

I am working on recovering and getting it caught back up.
Interesting! When you have time can you explain what that looked like, and what they were trying to do?
From what I saw in the witness chat it was a trading bot making a ton of transactions and clogging up the blocks. I just know that I was way behind and have since restarted and it's working on trying to catch up.

For sure! Although most heterodox economists foresee first a big (planned) collapse in zones like the European Union and the US, where almost all citizens' wealth will be seized by the States - including all individually held securities - before such more innovative policies could be implemented.
We're apparently a bit ahead of that coming turmoil, here in El Salvador.
I definitely think there are plans for such a collapse, but I don't think it’s something all people in positions of power have signed up for and I doubt what comes next will go according to the plans of those who are trying to orchestrate it.
I do think South America is more well prepared for a lot of coming changing because many places have already been through a lot of ups and downs and are used to uncertainty

Hey everyone happy belated new year. Looks like hive has something to celebrate
Some baby boomers are hesitant to explore Bitcoin, believing they have more knowledge than millennials discussing it.
Two years ago, a conversation with an older man in his 60s took place while Bitcoin was priced around $20K. He dismissed my viewpoints immediately, stating:

Fast forward to a few months ago, and I suggested that Bitcoin could be the world’s best asset—not just for him, but for his children and grandchildren's future.
He waved me off, responding:
This wasn’t a genuine inquiry. He was more interested in being right than understanding the market.
When Bitcoin touched $30K in 2022 and 2023, he dismissed it entirely. His fixation on the $30K figure seemed completely arbitrary.
Some individuals cling to their egos, seeking to prove their correctness at all costs. Admitting mistakes is not in their playbook.
What gives him confidence that he’ll actually buy Bitcoin when it supposedly retraces to $30K?
Bitcoin is worth what one is willing to pay. He believes he’s outsmarting Wall Street and those who have dedicated extensive time to studying the asset, while he focuses solely on its price.
I am a rare sort of baby boomers.
