Kcontest #12 // Hello Korea, I'm here to explore.
I was imagine myself travelling to jeju island in Korea, I was told and I've watched about the beauty of the island from the sunrise to the sunset and many amazing things to talk about and here is my imaginary traveling diary.
It is my first time travelling out of my country and Korea happen to be my first destination. Stepping off the plane onto Jeju Island this morning felt like entering a different world or let me just say it's a complete world entirely. It has a peaceful sanctuary which is far from the hustling and bustling of the city life. I’ve always dreamed of visiting Jeju, watching about it in their drama and movies make it really fascinating as it is known as Korea’s “Island of the Gods,” and now that I’m here, I understand why it holds such a special place in people’s hearts.
My first stop was Seongsan Ilchulbong, which is also known as “Sunrise Peak.” As I hiked up the gentle slope, the fresh sea breeze mixed with the scent of wildflowers, instantly calming my mind. Even though I'm not that athlete, with every strength me I reach the top just in time for sunrise and it was magical. Watching the sun slowly rising, climb above the horizon, with it's golden light casting over the crater and sparkling ocean, felt like a personal awakening. I slow down and appreciate the simple, breathtaking moments that the scenery can offer.
Later after leaving the peak, I wandered through the nearby villages, where life seems untouched by time. The locals I met was so friendly and accommodating, they greeted me warmly, sharing stories about their connection to the land and sea and I listened with keen interest.Drinking the hallabong tea felt like tasting the essence of the island itself. It is sweet and citrusy delight.
And before I know it, the evening approached, I found a quiet spot by the beach, watching the waves gently lap against the black volcanic rocks. The sky turned soft shades of pink and purple, and I felt a deep sense of gratitude. Jeju isn’t just a beautiful place, it’s a reminder of nature’s power and serenity, a chance to reconnect with oneself, a space to breathe and reflect.
While gisting with the locals, I was told about the Manjanggul Lava Tube, one of the world’s longest lava tunnels and it makes me wonder what it will be like to walk through that cool and dim lit cave. I know it will be eerie but it will also be an awe-inspiring experience. Just thinking about the natural forces that shaped this island millions of years ago, creating hidden wonders beneath the surface make me wonder what else this island has in store.
I can't explore everything in a day, so let stop here for now and continue the remaining in the future. So till then, keep on feasting on my little imaginary diary until we meet again.
Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
