CC-WK5 // MY MOM AND HER PHONE DRAMA

Did you know what my mom used to call android phone? she will say andrug. The most common phone for elders here is button phone but when the android started to get common, most elders started to demand for it too. But my mom was always contented with her button phone not until her best friend got an android phone and started doing video calls with her children and grandchildren, that was when my mom asked for android phone too because she wanted to do videos calls with her children and grandchildren too.

I went for a visit one day when she said "can I use an andrug phone too and I was like what is andrug again and she said that flat big phone like your own that is what my friend is using now, I wanted to be seeing you on the screen every day. I almost fell down from laughing so hard because that is the first time hearing andrug and it's hilarious. I asked her "mom when did android turn to andrug but she said " thank you English woman, that is how I know how to pronounce it and it you don't like it, you can give your own to me".

I was like okay this woman is serious with her demand but before I can say yes or no, I have to check how well she can handle it and I gave her my phone and even taught her how to use it. We use up to 30 minutes teaching her how to pick calls, how make call and many more and she told me she have understand it and it's not even hard to operate.

I leave my phone with her outside and went in to take my bath when I started hearing my phone ringing and I call onto her to help me pick it and tell the person that I was in the bathroom but she was unable to pick and what is the reason, my mom said my phone is damaged and need to be repaired because she pressed it for more than four times and still unable to pick calls.

But when she said that, I know deep down that she just don't want to admit that she doesn't know how to operate the phone yet. I took the phone from her make the call and return it to her. I told her the password and told her to unlock the phone. You should come and see how mom was pressing the phone as if she was pressing a button phone and when the phone did not respond she concluded that the phone is not working or maybe that type of phone can not work in het hand.

I remembered that time when we use to install this antivirus on the phone. I installed an antivirus with the ant crawling on the phone, I asked my mom to hold my phone for me and before I knew it, I started hearing my name and it's my mom calling and the way she was calling me sounded emergency so I have to run to her with the fear of maybe something bad has happened to her and when I get to her, she stretched the phone to me and said "what are you going to do about your phone, you have to take it to the repairer because the ant will eat all the wire and destroy the phone.

I wanted to laugh but I was too tired for that and I just took my phone from her without saying anything. Still she still continue asking me what I want to do until I told her that nothing will happen to the phone and was just an application. If I continue talking about it I don't think I can finish today so let me just stop her
