My Daughter's Scouting Program

Today my daughter is following scouting camp from her school. I have two daughters and a son. My second daughter is in 7 grade of junior school. In the first year, the school holds scouting camp. There are more than 300 participants in the program.

I took my daughter to the departure point. The school cooperates with the military district commander in Bekasi. All students were brought by military trucks.

The camp last for a day and a night in Bogor. There are various leadership activities and trainings in the camp. All students are forbidden to bring hand phones. Parents monitor their children from the teachers and instructors.

Scouting program is good for students. The activities teach them to be self reliant. The students also get leadership training, endurance, survival and many more activities.

They also learn to work in teams. The camp will finish at 3 in the afternoon. I am writing this post at 8.29 in the morning. I am monitoring my kid from home.

The activities is not free. I should pay IDR 500,000 or around $40.
All students will have tents, meal for two days, and all accommodation in the location including transportation. The fee is not expensive because the transportation uses the military trucks. The military district commander will not charge regular price for students or schools that use the military trucks.
