Yo les puedo asegurar que hay miles de videojuegos que casi nadie conoce y que guardan una calidad enorme. Al punto de pensar “como no jugué esto antes”.
This time I want to talk about Blackwood Crossing, a hidden and little known gem. A video game that is made to awaken your emotions.
En esta oportunidad les quiero hablar del Blackwood Crossing, una joya oculta y poco conocida. Un videojuego que está hecho para despertarte emociones.
The first thing I want to mention is that this game is short and easy. In less than 5 hours you could finish it and you don't need to have a great skill and dexterity to enjoy it. This makes it very comfortable for those who don't want to invest a lot of time in playing and for those who want to play in a relaxed and quiet way.
Lo primero que quiero mencionar, es que este juego es corto y fácil. En menos de 5 horas podrías terminarlo y no se necesita tener una gran habilidad y destreza para disfrutarlo. Lo que lo hace muy cómodo para aquellos que no queremos invertir mucho tiempo en jugar y para aquellos que quieren jugar de manera relajada y tranquila.

In this story we control and star a girl named Scarlett. A teenager who is traveling by train with her little brother, Finn.
En esta historia controlamos y protagonizamos a una chica llamada Scarlett. Una adolescente que está viajando en tren junto a su pequeño hermano, Finn.
The story begins with Scarlett and Finn playing hide and seek on the train. At the beginning everything seems normal, until we start to notice that little by little everything becomes a bit surreal and fantastical. We see a curious character that appears and disappears throughout the game. A boy with a rabbit mask and a sailor suit. Typical of the 30s/40s. Later we find out his purpose and origin.
La historia comienza con Scarlett y Finn jugando a las escondidas en el tren. Al inicio todo parece normal, hasta que empezamos a notar que poco a poco todo se vuelve un poco surrealista y fantasioso. Vemos un curioso personaje que aparece y desaparece durante todo el juego. Un niño con máscara de conejo y un traje de marinero. Propio de la década de 30/40. Más adelante averiguamos su propósito y su origen.
As the game progresses, we can sense that our protagonist is dealing with a trauma. Something from her past is haunting her. And it seems that this world was made to solve that.
Con el trascurso del juego podemos intuir qué nuestra protagonista está lidiando con un trauma. Algo de su pasado la atormenta. Y parece que este mundo fue hecho para resolver eso.
While we discover this, we have to solve different simple puzzles. For example, we have to join dialogues between pairs of family and friends. This was very interesting to me, in many occasions we enter places where it is full of our relatives and acquaintances. They are static and wearing animal masks. We have to interact with them in a specific order to accommodate the dialogues. I really liked it.
Mientras descubrimos esto, tenemos que resolver distintos puzzles sencillos. Como por ejemplo unir diálogos entre parejas de familiares y amigos. Esto se me hizo muy interesante, en muchas ocasiones entramos en lugares donde está plagado de nuestros familiares y conocidos. Ellos están estáticos y con máscaras de animales. Nosotros tenemos que interactuar con ellos en un orden especifico para acomodar los diálogos. Me gustó mucho la verdad.
Something I love about Blackwood Crossing is its setting and aesthetics. It gives us scenarios like a garden inside a wagon. Despite their scarce resources, they manage to work miracles with the scenery.
Algo que amo de Blackwood Crossing es su ambientación y su estética. Nos otorga escenarios como un jardín dentro de un vagón. A pesar de sus escasos recursos, logran hacer milagros con los escenarios.
Another thing to value is that it manages to empathize with the characters in a very short time. Although the game is very short, it manages to make us get fond of the main characters.
Otra cosa a valorar es que logra que empaticemos con los personajes en muy poco tiempo. Aunque el juego es muy corto, consigue que tengamos cariño a los protagonistas.
